Online bookmaker Ladbrokes has reaffirmed its commitment to Australian sport, extending its partnership with the National Basketball League (NBL) for a further two years.
Ladbrokes Australia CEO Dean Shannon said that the team are looking forward to working closely with the NBL to produce a unique and quality experience for basketball fans in Australia.
“Australia is producing many very good basketball players and we see tremendous potential for the NBL to continue developing as a prime time sports entertainment product, and one of the world’s strongest leagues in terms of talent,” Mr Shannon said.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with the NBL and enhancing the basketball fan experience by collaborating to produce digital content and fantasy games for both the NBL and NBA.”
NBL General Manager Jeremy Loeliger echoed Shannon’s sentiments and said that the league is thrilled to have renewed its ties with Ladbrokes, the world’s oldest bookmaker, as the official Australian Sports Betting and Wagering partner for the league.
“Ladbrokes’ decision is demonstrative of the organisation’s belief in the direction being taken by the NBL” Mr Loeliger said.
“We are very much looking forward to working with their talented and innovative team over the next two years to develop all kinds of interesting offerings to fans, while also upholding the integrity of the League with the support and insight of the best in the business”.
NBL Executive Director Larry Kestelman expressed his delight at the renewed agreement with Ladbrokes Australia as a foundation partner.
“Our focus has been to offer NBL fans in Australia the same type of engagement opportunities that the NBA offers their fans in the USA, and we have made significant steps towards that in a short space of time and will continue to do so in the future.” said Mr Kestelman.
Ladbrokes will announce a NBL Fantasy Player of the Week throughout the 2016/17 season, awarded to the most statistically productive player.
