This one’s all about home visits and fake fam bam tension so strap yourselves in.
Jarrod brought Sophie to the now infamous vineyard to meet his family.
Going to his vineyard sounds like great fun, but from my best friend’s experience, it can be a very dangerous place.
He has a white fluffy dog, which I noticed was mysteriously absent from this episode.
It’s probably been put down because the bloody thing is rabid. It bit my friend when she went there and the whole experience sounded a bit like the movie ‘Meet the Fockers’ with all the screaming and blood and bandages on arrival. Oh, and Jarrod hit a kangaroo on the way there, so her brand-new car was a mess. Anyway, I digress.
This date got off a much better start.
“I adore Jarrod, and I love wine,” Sophie said.
Careful Sophie. He doesn’t like being used for his wine.
She met just about everyone in his family, from step-parents to real parents, to sisters and his nephew. I doubt she remembered anyone’s names.
There was a bit of fake tension accompanied by some tacky theatrical music but it was all for show.
The date went super well and you could just sense Jarrod was going to drop the L-bomb at some point. Sophie looked scared. Australia was scared. He was rashing up. It was going to happen.
Then he did it.
“I’ve actually fallen in love with you,” Jarrod said.
“Yep,” Sophie said.
Lol. Burn. Nah, she was a little more forthcoming to the cameras later.
“My heart absolutely melted when Jarrod said he’d fallen in love with me.”
Next up was Apollo and he took her to see his horses, which were adorable, before dinner with the fam.
Again, there was some more fake tension before it was all resolved and everyone got back into eating and enjoying themselves.
Sophie genuinely looked like she enjoyed this date, and I reckon Apollo has a good chance.
Then it was time for a date with Stu. This kind of seemed more like an ad though, with all the shots of his Mitsubishi and it’s reverse parking cameras.
They went on a boat and Stu was up and about.
“I haven’t been this happy in 20 years. Maybe ever,” Stu said.
Whack. How do you think his wife feels about that? I say wife too, because they’re not even divorced yet, which he confessed to Sophie on this date.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, he also told her he’s had a vasectomy. Yeah, nah, that’s kind of important information that she should have been told earlier, given she wants kids. He then said he’d reverse it for her. How romantic. What every girl wants to hear.
“I haven’t held this back, it’s just this is the end of the comp… the end of the experience,” Stu said.
He nearly said ‘competition’, which completely gave away his intentions.
Blake was next and he put so much mayo on his date with Sophie, it was sickening.
They had an ice skating rink to themselves, so they went for a skate in West Coast Eagles ugly sweaters (why though?), before Blake whipped out a picnic on the ice where he hand-fed her strawberries. Oh, and when he clapped his hands together, snow fell from the roof. It was too much. None of that could mask how much of an arrogant prick he is though.
At his house, his mum and sister went into full fan-girl mode, literally screaming and squealing when Sophie walked in.
It sounded like a whole bunch of teenagers at a ‘One Direction’ concert.
They grilled her on her intentions eventually and Blake didn’t chime in and stand up for her, so straight up it was obvious he would be the one to go.
Also, was it some kind of dare to wear the same bomber jacket in every episode? Blake seriously needs to expand his wardrobe.
At the rose ceremony, Blake was sent on his way.
“Blake, you didn’t receive a rose,” Osher said.
Beautiful words.
It was then that Blake finally dropped the act and went rogue.
“I’m just speechless… I told you I’ve had your back…. I don’t really have anything else to say hey. Have fun with the other boys,” Blake said.
“She gives me that bullshit answer. F(*k this.
“Apparently I didn’t protect her? That’s BS.
“She’s just got the second-best guys in the house now.”
There you have it. The real Blake.
Stunning.
And then there were three.
