There is plenty of hype surrounding the Sydney Roosters and they should be able to start the NRL season with a comfortable win over the Wests Tigers. The Roosters have won 11 of their past 12 games against the Tigers and the Tigers have covered the line in only one of the past eight games between the two sides.
The Hurricanes are always tough to beat in front of their home fans and they beat the Crusaders last year, but it is impossible to bet against this Crusaders side. They have been nothing short of outstanding during the Super Rugby season to date and they really should not start any game as underdogs.
It is no secret that the New Zealand Warriors hate to travel and their record in Perth is particularly bad – they have lost their four games in the West and failed to beat the line in any of these. In contrast, the South Sydney Rabbitohs have covered the line in six of the eight games they have played in Perth in recent seasons.
The Sunwolves have made a promising start to the Super Rugby season and they are not as bad as the betting market suggests. The Japanese outfit have proven to be a profitable betting play against the line as away underdogs, while the Sharks have covered the line in only two of their past seven games as home underdogs.
