Round 2 brings us the AFL Grand Final rematch from last season as Richmond travel to the Adelaide Oval to face the Crows. The home side find themselves favoured in this game, much like they were in September. Winning on the road has not been an issue for the Tigers having claimed four of their past seven as underdogs and a respectable 6-1 record against the spread. Despite their slow start against Carlton last week I like the Tigers and the value on offer here.
Despite losing their last two games, the Cowboys are heavy favourites heading into tonight’s game against the Panthers. Penrith will be without Nathan Cleary and the conditions in Townsville will be tough for both teams, however it will be a huge adjustment for the visitors. With the Cowboys backed by a typically raucous home crowd they should be able to take care of business as they work their way into this season.
A lot is on the line for Sydney FC when they take to the field against Perth Glory, a win would be enough to crown them as the A-League’s first back to back Premiers. Despite looking somewhat shaky over the last month they have had the wood over Perth recording seven straight wins and going over 430 minutes since conceding a goal. While that drought is likely to end as Perth chase a finals berth but Sydney should still have the firepower to get them over the line.
