Daily Sports Tips – Sunday 29th July

Barcelona vs Tottenham 1.00pm AEST
Draw @ $3.50

The International Champions Cup continues from the U.S with a big showdown between two of the world’s top clubs in Los Angeles. Barcelona is set to start players from their B team this afternoon, including the likes of Marc Curcurella and Sergi Palencia. Tottenham, meanwhile, will be missing stars like Harry Kane and Dele Alli, but after triumphing 4-1 over Roma last week, Christian Eriksen is more than capable of carrying the load. Still, these teams are fairly evenly matched in terms of talent, so the draw is a solid betting play.

North Melbourne vs West Coast Eagles 1.10pm AEST
West Coast Eagles 1-39 @ $2.26

This is basically it for North Melbourne now, win or go home. Fortunately for the Roos they hold the home ground advantage this afternoon down in Hobart, but this Eagles team is certainly no pushover on the road. Today’s game is going to come down to the forwards battle, setting us up for what could be a high scoring shootout. The last time these two met Josh Kennedy booted a seven goal bag, and unless North can apply some pressure, something they failed to do last week, it’s tough to see them winning this one.

Sydney Roosters vs St. George Dragons 4.10pm AEST
Sydney Roosters 1-12 @ $2.90

Round 20 winds down in style this afternoon with this potential Grand Final preview. Despite their win last week, the Dragons have looked a little off recently, while the Roosters have made it back-to-back wins on the trot. Sydney are yet to earn a win against their fellow Top 4 opponents this year, which includes Anzac Day’s drubbing at the hands of the Dragons. Still, it’s Trent Robinson’s 150th coaching game, and with the Dragons missing winger Nene Macdonald, you have to like the Roosters’ chances at home.
