No. 5 Mamzelle Tess
Mamzelle Tess was not beaten far in either the Blazer Stakes or the Tesio Stakes and this is a genuine drop in class. It has been a long time between race wins, but she is clearly racing in career best form and this is the weakest race that she has contested this campaign. This is her chance to return to winning form.
Flemington - Race 3 12.05pm AEDT
No. 8 Masculino
Masculino has been extremely consistent during his racing career to date and he finished his most recent campaign with two wins and two seconds in his last four starts. This is a step-up in class, but he is a horse with upside that does run well fresh and he is well and truly over the odds at his current price of $11.
Flemington - Race 4 12.40pm AEDT
No. 10 Shiraaoh
Shiraaoh will make his Australian racing debut after starting his racing career in the United Kingdom. He definitely wasn’t elite, but he does have form around some decent horses and he doesn’t meet the strongest field of stayers in this contest. Kerrin McEvoy could prove to be the difference and there are few better riders of stayers in this country.
Flemington - Race 8 4:05pm AEDT
No. 14 Take It Intern
Take It Intern has impressed in his two race starts since arriving in Australia and he still has plenty of scope to improve. The form around him this campaign has been very strong and the step-up in trip will suit. The wide barrier draw isn’t ideal, but he will get back in the run anyway and he has the turn-of-foot to finish over the top of his rivals.
