PUNTER’S PAL
Richmond
is the premiership favouites and was the banker for many in the first week of
AFL finals.
The
Tigers were heavily backed, with much of the money on them to cover a skinny
5.5 point line, which they did with ease.
BOOKIE’S BEST
The
Magpies were the darling of punters early in the season but, as the finals got
underway, they were the friend of bookmarkers.
The
Magpies weren’t overly well fancies despite Geelong’s poor record off a bye.
FIRST GOAL FRUSTRATION
After three games, the average
first goal kicker price was $34 and the bookmakers were well on top but they
bounced back with vengeance when Jack Riewoldt, who’d been backed for plenty,
nailed the opener in the Tigers Lions clash at the Gabba.
LEGENDARY LAND
Punters largely nailed the opening
week but one punter in particular put his money where his thoughts were and
threw in the Melbourne Storm for good measure.
The five leg multi of West
Coast/Collingwood/Giants/Richmond/Storm paid $11.53 and his $300 wager returned
$3459.
BACKING THE FUTURE
Just six teams remain the hunt and
the Tigers are still the one punters want but the grand final quinella of
Richmond and Collingwood has been hammered in the past few days with both
already through to the preliminary final.
