Newcastle - Race 4 3:20pm AEST

No. 3 Perfect Impression

Perfect Impression found the line strongly when she finished second behind Nudge at Kembla Grange last start and this race really isn’t much tougher. The step-up to 1600 metres is ideal and she will be able to settle closer to the speed from barrier five. This is her chance to record a maiden race win.

Newcastle - Race 5 3:55pm AEST

No. 1 Belladeel

Belladeel has generally raced in stronger company than this during his racing career to date and there is no reason that he should be $19. On his best form, he would be right in this contest and he trialed nicely at Cessnock ahead of his return to the races. He is an outstanding each-way bet at his current price.

Newcastle - Race 6 4:35pm AEST

No. 5 Terroir

Terroir recorded an impressive win on debut at Newcastle earlier this year and a replica of that performance would make her very tough to beat in this field. She maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier two with Tommy Berry in the saddle and she is well-placed to make a winning return to the races.

Newcastle - Race 7 5:10pm AEST

No. 4 Proven Class

Proven Class returned to the races with a fair performance at Kembla Grange and she should take good improvement from that effort. This is a sharp step-up in trip, but Mark Newnham does do this with his horse fairly regularly with a fair amount of success. She represents genuine value at her current price.
