Flemington - Race 4 2:10pm AEDT

No. 5 True Self

True Self is deserving of his status as a short-priced favourite in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes. He ran well in the Ebor Handicap in the United Kingdom and he really should have beaten Prince Of Arran in the Geelong Cup. That form was franked in the Melbourne Cup and the step-up to 2600 metres, as well as the long Flemington straight, looks ideal for him.

Flemington - Race 5 2:50pm AEDT

No. 1 Santa Ana Lane

Santa Ana Lane won the Darley Sprint Classic 12 months ago and he can become the first horse to win the race in back-to-back years since Black Caviar. His run in The Everest was excellent and he generally does improve the further that he gets into his campaign. If he produces his best form, no horse in this field can match him.

Flemington - Race 7 4:10pm AEDT

No. 5 Haunted

Haunted is excellent value at his current odds of $9.50. He was able to return to winning form with a classy victory in the Ladbrokes Village Stakes at Caulfield and the step-up to 1400 metres looks ideal for him at this stage of his campaign. He will need some luck in running from the wide barrier draw, but he is still well and truly over the odds.

Flemington - Race 8 4:55pm AEDT

No. 15 Melody Belle

Melody Belle was nothing short of outstanding in the Empire Rose Stakes and she can win again in the Mackinnon Stakes. She has now recorded seven Group 1 wins from her past eight starts and she is unbeaten at 2000 metres. The wide barrier draw shouldn’t be an issue as she should be able to find the best part of the track. She will be savaging the line late.
