Daily Racing Tips – Friday 6th December

The Valley - Race 2 7:00pm AEDT

No. 5 Grand Scholar

Grand Scholar does look like the good thing of the night at The Valley. She has scored two wins from as many starts this preparation and she has done so in very impressive fashion. The Valley is the perfect track for her as she likes to bowl along in front and Luke Currie will be able to find the lead very comfortably. She is the perfect anchor for any multi this Friday night.

The Valley - Race 4 8:00pm AEDT

No. 1 Duke Of Magnus

Duke Of Magnus has form around horses like Fidelia and Tarwin in open class racing at Flemington and Caulfield last prep and he is going better than his form suggests on paper this time in. You can forget his run on the heavy at Ballarat and he will appreciate the step up in distance third up here. He has drawn well and should settle right on the speed, making him a tough proposition to get past in the short Valley straight.

The Valley - Race 5 8:30pm AEDT

No. 10 Deploys Alone

Deploys Alone is the horse to beat in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge. His overall winning record isn’t great, but he has generally raced in stronger company than this and he does seem to enjoy these short-course sprints. Trainer John Sadler is an expert at placing his horses in winnable races and he has done that with Deploys Alone.

The Valley - Race 7 9:30pm AEDT

No. 2 Combat Order

Combat Order has scored two wins from her two race starts to date and she is a filly that has a stack of upside. The Shamus Award filly ran the fastest closing sectionals of the day when she won at Seymour last start and that does suggest that she has serious talent. Barrier six is ideal and she will have every possible chance in the run.
