Bacchus has been a model of consistency this time and looks tough to beat in the first at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday, but he has opened the $1.50 favourite in better and that is far too short for me. Happy to wait until Race 2 to open the account.

This race is wide open from a betting perspective and at publish, we’re faced with $6 the field.
I’ll be happy to have something on the Mark Kavanagh-trained Rebel Racer, who leads the market. The three-year-old son of Rebel Raider has only made one appearance at the races so far but ran on well to finish second behind Namimo here at Ladbrokes Park and will only improve from that effort. Craig Williams takes the ride and the horse could prove to be over the odds.

Namimo is making the step up from maiden class into this BM64 sprint and looks capable of continuing her rise through the grades. The Lindsay Park-trained filly rarely runs a bad race, but it did take her ten starts to record her first win. It was an excellent performance here, however and she’ll enjoy further improvement for the effort. She’s drawn ideally in barrier 4 and can fight out the finish.

Prism is four weeks between races and will enjoy a nice drop in class at Ladbrokes Park this week. The All Too Hard mare has returned several quality performances this time in and won over a mile at Moe three back; returning competitive efforts in two far tougher city races most recently. A repeat of her run for third at Caulfield last time out would see her far too good for this field, and I think that she is up to it.

Tatalina is rock-hard fit for her appearance in the fifth at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday and looks well placed for a return to winning form. The four-year-old daughter of Ocean Park recorded consecutive wins in her first two starts for Team McEvoy this time and has since finished fourth in BM75 and BM70 company, both in town, at her two most-recent starts. She’s drawn to receive a lovely run in transit and with appropriate luck, will be hard to hold out.

Think We’re Due has opened at odds of $6.50 to win this BM64 race and looks over the odds, in my opinion. The Andrew Noblett-trained mare has returned plenty of pleasing effort and results throughout her racing career and is a horse that typically enjoys sharp improvement with a run under her belt. She hit the line well to finish fourth at this grade when resuming at Caulfield and is ready to win.

Pinyin hasn’t run a bad race since resuming and is ready to win at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday. The Wanted mare resumed with a tough effort to finish third over 1000m here at Ladbrokes Park and has since finished a close-up in sprints at Caulfield and Flemington respectively. Fitter fourth-up and dropping in class, she will take a power of beating.

This is an outstanding race for a Wednesday and several genuine Saturday-grade horses have been confirmed for a start.
He hasn’t been seen at the races since late September, but Jumbo Ozaki is a potential star and can make a winning return in this race. The four-year-old son is quite clearly still learning his craft, but he is yet to miss a place in six career starts and his fresh form is obviously good. This will be his first start for Danny O’Brien and he’s drawn ideally, with the benefit of Craig Williams in the saddle.

Lady Of Crebilly hasn’t shown her best form this time, but she remains a fair racehorses and she looks to be big overs at an enormous price in the last ($31 at publish). The Choisir mare was excellent last time in; recording consecutive wins in decent races at Pakenham and ended her prep third in Group 3 company. She finished five lengths from the talented Neighbourhood at Caulfield last time out and should improve into this.
