This is a typically tough way to start the day from a betting perspective and three of the seven two-year-olds confirmed for a start in Race 1 are on debut.
With a view towards something later in the carnival, I’m happy to stay out of this one and watch.

Cellsabeel is a star on the rise and is primed to win the Inglis Millennium. She’s only had two career starts but stamped herself as a filly to follow when fourth in the Golden Gift on debut, before giving her rivals windburn when resuming over 1100m at Rosehill last month. She’ll only improve from that effort and will probably win again, but she is far too short for me at $1.50 and I am happy to watch.
Update: Cellsabeel has been scratched from the Inglis Millennium due to the wet Warwick Farm track.

This is an excellent edition of the Inglis Sprint and one of the more open races on Inglis Millennium Day from a betting perspective.
I’m a big fan of the Richard Laming-trained Condo’s Express and he looks over the odds to win this at a double-figure quote ($11 at publish). The Rubick gelding was a strong and consistent performer during spring; winning the Listed McKenzie Stakes and finishing fourth in the Group 3 Blue Sapphire, and he’ll enjoy good improvement from his first-up run this time down the Flemington straight. James McDonald jumps in the saddle and the horse is up to winning.

Race favourite Shared Ambition has won five of his six career starts and must be respected, but I think he’ll be better for this first-up run and further out in trip.
Gaulois has a fitness edge over several key rivals and looks tough to beat under these conditions. The black type winner hit the line with intent to finish fourth in The Buffering when resuming, before filling the minors in the Listed Carrington Stakes just over two weeks. He’s back to his pet trip on Wednesday and is ready to win.

Voila has returned to the races in typically consistent form this time and looks well placed for a return to winning form. The Chris Waller-trained mare has been a good horse for the stable for several preparations now and has placed in three of her four starts since resuming this time. She has form around some good horses this time in and is rock-hard fit for Wednesday’s contest, which does look her best chance of winning to date.

Dio D’Oro will take winning form into the sixth on Inglis Millennium Day and looks more than capable of making it two in a row. The Medaglia D’oro gelding has continued to improve with each start since resuming this time and mustered an eye-catching turn of foot to run on and swallow up his rivals with 60kgs in tow last time out. He likes racing with the sting out of the track and is drawn a peach in barrier 4 with James McDonald in the saddle.

Maddi Rocks was an impressive first-up winner and will only improve into the seventh on Inglis Millennium Day. The Fastnet Rock filly returned several pleasing efforts in City company last time in and scored a lovely win in BM72 company at Canterbury first-up, beating a few handy gallopers. Tommy Berry has options from the rails draw and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why Maddi Rocks won’t be in the finish again.

Merlinite is seeking a hat-trick of wins when she lines up in the penultimate at Warwick Farm. The Pierro mare has continued to improve with racing this time in, but her two most recent efforts, both dominant wins have suggested that she has found peak condition. There is a little bit of a query over her ability on a genuinely heavy track, but I think that her class will take her a long way towards winning.

Mirra Vision puts an undefeated record on the line when she resumes in the last at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and if her recently trial is any indication, she’ll take plenty of beating again. The daughter of Lonhro showed plenty at the trials prior to making her debut and franked that form when a handy winner of both of starts last time in. Tommy Berry will take the ride from the inside draw and the horse can continue her rise through the grades.
