Nine juveniles will step out in Race 1 and of those horses, only three have race day experience.
I’m happy to watch this lot go around and wait for Race 2.

Shout The Bar was an impressive winner on debut and can continue her rise through the grades on Wednesday. The Not A Single Doubt filly showed ability at the trials and franked that with a dominant win over 1150m at Newcastle in mid-February. She’ll enjoy good improvement for that effort and with even luck, will fight out the finish again.

This is a decent group of three-year-olds and there is a case to be made for several of them.
The Kim Waugh-trained Reaching was unlucky not to win first-up but looks ready to do something on the Kensington course on Wednesday. By Deep Impact, out of Alinghi, Reaching placed in two starts during her debut prep and hit the line with intent to finish less than a length from Olympic Legend a fortnight ago. The small rise in trip should suit and she’ll be partnered by James McDonald.

Mirra Vision puts an unbeaten record on the line when she resumes in the fourth at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday and looks up to winning again. The daughter of Lonhro stamped herself as one to watch prior to making her competitive debut and returned two smart efforts from as many starts in spring. She’s had the benefit of another lovely trial in the lead-up to this prep and she could receive the run of the race from barrier 6.

Hilo is another horse that is set to resume at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday and will be extremely difficult to beat. The Godolphin-trained gelding has recorded two wins and a minor placing from only seven career starts and has typically contested races harder than this, ending his last prep with four-consecutive runs in black type company. He’s a proven fresh performer and with even luck, will be hard to hold out.

This is shaping as one of the better contests at Randwick-Kensington this week and there is a case to be made for several horses in the market.
Re Edit simply didn’t come up in spring, but she is a horse of immense ability and I’ll be happy to have something on her first-up in this race. The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old will definitely improve for this run and as she gets further out in trip, but her fresh record is also outstanding, and she has recorded two wins from three previous first-up assignments. James McDonald takes the ride and should give the mare every opportunity.

Sea Of Life has found top gear and can continue his impressive run of form in the penultimate race in Sydney on Wednesday. The Sebring gelding flew home to finish a short nose second behind Rammstein first-up and broke his maiden second-up; beating home a few subsequent winners in the process. He continued his rise through the grades with his best performance to date in BM70 company last time out and the rise in trip on Wednesday looks perfect at this point of his preparation.

Deference has improved for two excellent performances this time and is ready to win at Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday. The Exceed And Excel gelding has missed a place only twice in eight career starts and resumed this time for a close-up third in BM70 company before hitting the line for second behind Splintex at Rosehill last time out. This is a drop in class from that race and he will take a power of beating.
