Warwick Farm Preview – Wednesday 17th June

Casino Prince @ Vinery Plate (1100m) - Race 1 12:50pm

Only three of the seven confirmed starters in Race 1 have previous experience and our race favourite, Radiance, is on debut.

I am happy to watch this group go around, with a view towards something further down the road.

Yulong Stallions Plate (1100m) - Race 2 1:25pm

It is a similar scene in Race 2, but Beyliks has stamped himself as a colt to follow and can break his maiden.

The Godolphin-trained juvenile has made three appearances at the races so far, placing twice and resuming this time for fourth in the Group 2 Champagne Classic in Brisbane.

He’ll enjoy good improvement for that hit-out, as well as this big drop in class.

Benchmark 70 Handicap (2140m) - Race 3 2:00pm

Divine Eleven has returned some lovely efforts this campaign and is primed to record another win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The Redoute’s Choice gelding finished second behind the talented Kateru at Kembla Grange earlier this prep and franked that performance when an impressive winner of a maiden race at his following start.

He has since finishing second to Fulmina at Newcastle and finished fourth in a far tougher Saturday race at Randwick.

He’s rock-hard fit, has options from the rails draw and will be steered by Kerrin McEvoy.

Drinkwise Mile (1600m) - Race 4 2:35pm

Reformist has mixed his form a little this time, but he wasn’t far away from the winner in a similar contest at Randwick-Kensington last time out, and might not be offered a better opportunity to win in town than this.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding saluted in BM64 company when resuming this time, but finished down the order second and third-up.

There was a lot more to like about the way he worked home last time out, and he is a horse that goes well on a rain-affected track.

Bowermans Commercial Furniture Handicap (2400m) - Race 5 3:10pm

Terwilliker was an impressive winner of a strong race last time out and I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.

The Pierro gelding has been a typically strong performer for the Anthony Cummings yard this time and was rewarded for his condition with a dominant win at Randwick last time out.

He’s rock-hard fit, gets some relief in the weights with Jean Van Overmeire aboard and he is over the odds at his current price ($6.50 at publish).

Blue Point @ Darley Handicap (1200m) - Race 6 3:45pm

He’s A Hotshot hasn’t been seen at the races since February, but he was a strong and consistent performer last time in, races well fresh and goes well on a wet track.

The Star Witness gelding rarely runs a bad race and found form around some good horses last time in, frequently stepping out in races that were harder than this one.

He’s had the benefit of a nice trial in the lead-up to his return and Nash Rawiller has options in transit from the rails draw.

Ranvet Handicap (1300m) - Race 7 4:20pm

This is the most open race on Wednesday’s Warwick Farm card and a horse like Braze Gem has claims at a big price ($16 at publish).

The Brazen Beau filly won each of her first two starts back from a spell this time before a fair effort over 1100m on the Kensington course last time out.

Fitter fourth-up and getting further out in trip, I’m happy to have a small each-way play at the price.
