Ladbrokes Park Preview – Wednesday 1st July

Ladbrokes Park Preview – Wednesday 1st July

Eight races will be run and won at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The rail will be set out three metres around the entire course and the track is likely to be rated in the soft range.

Our complete Ladbrokes Park tips can be found below.

Ladbrokes Handicap (1200m) - Race 1 12:25pm

This is an outstanding race to begin the card, but Galenus does look the one to beat.

The Tasmanian hasn’t run a bad race in his career and arrived on the mainland for an impressive win over 1200m at Cranbourne in May.

He races well with space between runs and has options today from the rails draw.

Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap (1300m) - Race 2 1:00pm

Aysar has made just one appearance at the races so far but looks a horse of ability and can break his maiden at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The Deep Field colt trialled fairly in the lead up to his debut and mustered a nice turn of foot to run on late for third over 1000m at Mornington.

He’ll enjoy good improvement for that experience and the rise in trip should suit.

Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1300m) - Race 3 1:35pm

Tavidance hasn’t been seen at the races since September, but he has typically contested far tougher races than this and can make a winning return.

The Tavistock gelding has so far recorded two wins and a minor from only four starts and returned for just the one start in spring, an impressive win in BM70 company at Bendigo.

He’s drawn to receive a lovely run from an inside draw and will take beating.

Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap (1600m) - Race 4 2:10pm

Only eight horses will step out, but this is clearly one of the better races on Wednesday’s card at Ladbrokes Park and there is a case to be made for several.

Mrs O’malley is a consistent type and looks a winning chance at around the $8 mark.

The Street Boss mare stood in the gates of a tougher race at Flemington three back, finishing midfield behind the likes of Ruban Bleu at Caulfield before running a length from the winner here at Ladbrokes Park last time out.

She’s rock-hard fit, will have conditions to suit and I’m happy to have an each-way play at the price.

Ladbrokes Switch Handicap (1600m) - Race 5 2:45pm

Touch Of Mink never got into the race here at Ladbrokes Park a couple of weeks ago, and I am happy to give her another chance this week, at a lovely price ($9 at publish).

The Not A Single Doubt mare has been up and racing for quite some time, but prior to her last start effort she had continued to return high-quality performances around some good horses.

Craig Williams stays in the saddle and she looks a touch of overs.

MRC Foundation Handicap (1200m) - Race 6 3:20pm

This is a drop in class for Rolling Moss and he is up to winning.

The Shawn Mathrick-trained gelding recorded impressive wins at Cranbourne and Mornington two and three starts back and was last seen finishing fourth down the straight at Flemingotn.

He is rock-hard fit, drawn ideally in barrier 6 and gets a relief in the weights with Campbell Rawiller’s claim.

Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap (2100m) - Race 7 3:55pm

This is probably the best race on Wednesday’s card at Ladbrokes Park and there are several winning chances in the pack, but I am happy to stick with the Peter Moody-trained Shepard.

Shepard needed the run when he finished fifth here at Ladbrokes Park first-up, but finished second at Geelong at his next start before recording a dominant win at Ballarat.

He was probably a little out of his depth at Flemington last time out but will improve further for that hit-out and will relish the drop in class.

Ladbrokes Money Back Odds Handicap (2100m) - Race 8 4:30pm

Shahzade doesn’t know how to run a bad race and will take beating in the last race at Ladbrokes Park on Wednesday.

The Anthony Freedman-trained mare recorded consecutive wins three and four starts back and filled the minors behind Queen La Diva at Flemington, before finishing second to Whiskey Shooter here a couple of weeks ago.

The rise in trip will suit at this point of her prep and she’ll get relief in the weights with a claiming apprentice aboard.
