The Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights season gets underway with 2020 Moir Stakes Night at The Valley!
The Moir Stakes is the headline race, but this is a card that is packed full of quality and there is a huge amount of talent in action.
We have analysed every single race on the card and our complete 2020 Moir Stakes Night tips can be found below.
Race 1 - 5:15pm
Lloyd Williams Plate (1200m)
Leon Macdonald looks to have found the right race for Extra Time.
He wasn’t beaten far after having no luck in running in the McNeil Stakes and I’m not sure he really enjoyed the straight when he finished sixth in the Danehill Stakes.
On exposed form he has a clear class edge over the rest of this field and he maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier three with Craig Williams in the saddle.

Race 2 - 5:45pm
MSC Signs Lockdown Legends Handicap (1200m)
Express Pass has recorded two wins from as many race starts this campaign and there is no reason that he can’t continue his winning ways.
He ran some of the fastest closing sectionals of the day when he won at Caulfield last start and he still has the scope to improve on that performance.
Barrier one means that he will need some luck in running at the right time, but with even luck he will prove tough to run down.

Race 3 - 6:15pm
Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 1 (955m)
This is a very strong edition of the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge.
Alfa Oro will start this contest as a deserving favourite, but I can’t get him as short as his current price and I am happy to bet against him.
The value runner in this field is Our Gladiator.
He has an excellent record in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge and he is a horse that always flies fresh.
Liam Riordan will be able to ride him aggressively in the early stages of the race and I am confident he is a better chance than his current odds suggest.

Race 4 - 6:45pm
Group 2 Stutt Stakes (1600m)
There are only eight runners in the Stutt Stakes, but it is a contest that is packed full of quality.
Holyfield looks like the ideal horse for The Valley.
He led from start to finish to win the Ming Dynasty Quality at Rosehill Gardens last start and I think that he is perfectly suited to do the same in the Stutt Stakes.
I am keen to save on Glenfiddich.
His run against the older horses in the Memsie Stakes was excellent and I don’t want to lose on the race if gets the job done.

Race 5 - 7:15pm
Group 3 Scarborough Stakes (1200m)
September Run showed an excellent turn-of-foot to win the Cap D’antibes Stakes at Flemington last start and she is the horse to beat in the Scarborough Stakes.
She got a long way back in that contest, but I am confident that she can settle closer to the speed in this race with Craig Williams in the saddle.
The daughter of Exceed And Excel still has the scope to improve and it will be interesting to see how far she gets this campaign.
The obvious danger is Dirty Thoughts and she will go straight to the front from the wide barrier draw.

Race 6 - 7:45pm
Group 3 Ladbrokes JRA Cup (2040m)
This looks like the perfect race for Mirage Dancer.
He returned to the races with a promising effort in the Heatherlie Stakes and he took a big step second-up last campaign when he finished third in the Peter Young Stakes.
The imported galloper does have early speed and Mark Zahra will be able to settle him just behind the speed.
Al Galalyel has a great record at The Valley and is the obvious danger, but he is short enough at his current price.

Race 7 - 8:15pm
Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m)
This is a very open edition of the Moir Stakes and there are a host of winning chances.
He may be a ten-year-old, but Jungle Edge is going as well as ever and he is the horse that represents serious value in this field.
There is set to be rain in Melbourne on Friday and there is little doubt that Jungle Edge is one of the best wet-trackers in Australia.
He has also produced his best form over 1000 metres – he won the W.J. Adams Stakes over this trip earlier this year and he finished third behind Nature Strip and Redzel in the Challenge Stakes.
I don’t want to get too involved in this race too heavily as there are simply so many winning chances, but Jungle Edge does represent genuine value at his current odds.

Race 8 - 8:45pm
Group 2 Stocks Stakes (1600m)
This is a tricky way to finish the night and there are a host of winning chances.
Greysful Glamour led from start to finish to win her only previous start at The Valley by six lengths and there is no reason that she can’t do the same in this contest.
Her first-up run in the Tramway Stakes was excellent and she should have no issues finding the front in the early stages of this contest.
