We are back at The Valley for another big Saturday of racing.
The McKenzie Stakes and Carlyon Stakes, which were both washed out in August, headline the card and there is plenty of value to be found.
We have analysed every single race and our complete 2020 McKenzie Stakes Day tips can be found below.
Race 1 - 12:55pm
MVRC Membership On Sale Now Handicap (1600m)
I can’t get Seb Song as short as his current price and it is Supreme Thunder that looks the value in this contest.
Supreme Thunder made his racing debut with a promising performance at Ballarat and he should be able to take good improvement from that effort.
Barrier seven looks ideal and he should get a lovely run in transit just behind the speed.

Race 2 - 1:30pm
Ladbrokes Plate (1000m)
This is a very tricky race for punters as the majority of this field will be making their racing debuts.
It is tough to look past Brazen Boy following his 14 lengths victory in a barrier trial, but I don’t want to dive in at the price in a race that has this many unknowns.
Race 3 - 2:05pm
Vale Jim Marconi Handicap (1600m)
This another open race with a host of winning chances.
There doesn’t look to be a huge amount of speed in this contest and Will Price should be able to find the front fairly comfortably on Ocean’s Thirteen.
She wasn’t beaten far in a toughest race than this at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup Carnival and on her best form she does look to have the measure of the race of this field.

Race 4 - 2:40pm
Tua's Quality Half Century Handicap (1600m)
Wings Of Pastrami will need some luck in running, but I still think that she represents value in what is a very open race.
She wasn’t beaten far by Power Scheme at Flemington on Mackinnon Stakes Day and she has been racing well without winning this preparation.
John Allen will have options from the wide barrier draw as she does have tactical versatility and I am happy to have a gamble at the current price.

Race 5 - 3:20pm
Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m)
There may only be eight runners, but this is still a very interesting edition of the McKenzie Stakes.
The horse that appeals at his current price is Alleboom.
He produced a career best performance to win at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day and he is a horse that still has plenty of upside.
Craig Williams can ride him aggressively from barrier seven and he will make his own luck right on the speed.

Race 6 - 4:00pm
Seppelt Wines Handicap (1000m)
This is yet another contest where you can make a case for a number of different runners.
Mariamia is a mare that I’ve always had plenty of time for and it would not surprise to see her run a big race at some nice odds.
She failed to fire at Flemington lat start, but I am confident that she is a better mare than that effort suggests.
Her win at The Valley on October 2nd was nothing short of outstanding and she does have an excellent record over 1000 metres.
They should go very quick in the early stages of this race and she will be the horse that is flying home late.

Race 7 - 4:40pm
Rendr Delivery Handicap (2040m)
One More Try goes into this race as a deserving favourite.
It has been a while between wins, but she has generally been acing in tougher company than this and she has an excellent chance to return to winning form.
She finished fourth behind Affair To Remember in the Matriarch Stakes and the form coming out of that ace has been strong.
Her racing pattern always means that she needs some luck in running, but barrier five is ideal and she has the benefit of Craig Williams in the saddle.

Race 8 - 5:20pm
Listed Carlyon Stakes (1000m)
The market suggests that this is a race in two between Coruscate and Prezado.
I agree that is the case and I am happy to back them both.
Coruscate doesn’t have an ideal racing pattern for The Valley, but he is definitely the class horse in this field.
He scored two nice wins in the Testa Rossa Stakes and the Village Stakes before he was only narrowly denied in the Doveton Stakes.
Damien Oliver will be forced to go back from the wide barrier draw, but he will be flying home late.
Prezado went to another level at the end of his last campaign and he maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier one.
He has never won first-up in the past, but he is rarely far away and he will have a head start on Coruscate heading into the straight.

Race 9 - 5:55pm
Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap (1200m)
Bandersnatch is well-placed to make a winning return to the races.
He has form around a number of good horses in Sydney and I think that his best form does give him a genuine edge over the rest of this field.
The Casino Prince gelding has won first-up in the past and Will Price can settle him right on the speed from barrier nine.
