Tramontana has an excellent chance to breakthrough for a maiden race win this afternoon.
He has generally raced in tougher company than this and he has form around some classy gallopers, including a sixth place finish in the Anzac Day Stakes at Flemington.
The Toronado gelding should take good improvement from his first-up run and on exposed form he does have a genuine class edge over the rest of this field.
My Boy Birmingham will be tough to beat, but I don’t think that there is as much between him and Ronay as the current market suggests.
Ronay has an outstanding record at this venue and her recent form has been stellar.
She chased home Vahash last start and I don’t think that My Boy Birmingham is at that level.
Storm’s Colours doesn’t win out of turn, but this does look like a nice race for him.
He returned to the races with a tough second place finish behind Ronay and he should take good improvement from that effort.
Barrier nine isn’t ideal and he will need a little bit of luck in running, but he is still good enough to win a race of this quality.
Testa Rock is deserving of her status as a deserving favourite in this clash.
She performed well without winning on debut and she took good improvement into her second race start where she scored a classy victory.
The Fastnet Rock filly clearly has plenty of upside and I expect to see her end up in stronger company than this.
