Port Macquarie - Race 2 1:50pm AEST

No. 3 Uprise

Uprise doesn’t win out of turn, but he finds himself in a very winnable contest at Port Macquarie this afternoon.

He has been racing in tougher company than this at the Gold Coast this campaign and the drop in quality suits.

Barrier four is perfect and he will get the run of the race with Rory Hutchings in the saddle.

Port Macquarie - Race 3 2:25pm AEST

No. 4 Hemsworth

Hemsworth is deserving of his status as a clear favourite.

He ran well on debut at Tamworth and it is fair to say that he didn’t have a huge amount of luck last start.

This is a very weak field and he looks like the only horse with any real upside.

Port Macquarie - Race 4 3:05pm AEST

No. 3 Miss Scalini

Miss Scalini is another mare that looks well-placed at Port Macquarie this afternoon.

She has raced well without winning so far this campaign and she should now be at peak fitness third-up.

The Magnus mare has recorded two wins from her three race starts at this track and distance and there is no reason that she can’t win again.

Port Macquarie - Race 5 3:40pm AEST

No. 1 Green Protector

Green Protector can make it back-to-back wins at Port Macquarie this afternoon.

He was able to break through for a maiden race win at Murwillumbah last start in impressive fashion and he should take good confidence from that win.

Barrier one suits him and I am confident that there is no horse in this field with as much upside.
