Daily Racing Tips – Thursday 9th September
Mornington - Race 5 3:00pm AEST
No. 3 Cicero Field
Cicero Field has recorded two wins from her past three race starts and there is no doubt that she is racing in career best form.
The way that she put away her rivals at Ladbrokes Park Sandown was excellent and the step-up in trip does look ideal.
Barrier five is ideal and he will have every possible chance with Beau Mertens in the saddle.
Mornington - Race 6 3:30pm AEST
No. 1 Heir To The Throne
Heir To The Throne doesn’t win out of turn, but this does look like a lovely race for her.
She has been racing in tougher company than this and this is the weakest race that she has contested in some time.
Craig Williams in the saddle is a positive and I think that she is deserving of her status as favourite.
Mornington - Race 7 4:00pm AEST
No. 3 Angelic Scent
Angelic Scent is well-placed to make a winning return to the races.
She showed plenty of ability during her maiden racing campaign and she finished a more than credible third in the Morphettville Guineas.
The Teofilo mare will get a dream run from barrier three and it would not surprise to see her end up in much stronger races than this one.
Mornington - Race 8 4:30pm AEST
No. 1 Salton Sea
Salton Sea made his Australian racing debut with a credible performance behind Expectant and he should take good improvement from that effort.
He meets Expectant better at the weights in this contest and there is little doubt that he has more upside than his rival.
Damian Lane can settle him right on the speed from barrier two and he can claim a maiden Australian race win.
