The Art Of Omen Betting

The Art Of Omen Betting

Every punter knows about omen betting. When you back something purely on speculation with little to no form to go off.

If you listened to our most recent podcast, you’ll know that us boys at On the Drift had a recent positive experience with the number 7.

The art of omen betting reaches far and wide. And there’s no better feeling when they come off. Here’s some more examples.

No 2nd Ticket

This is a universally recognised omen, and a hard lesson learned if you don’t take heed.

Chances are you’ve been at the pub for a few hours with your mates and the bet slips that you should know like the back of your hand might don’t look as clear as they once did.

So, instead of putting your $5 on the favourite in the last, you’ve instead chucked it on a $40-1 shot.

Don’t jump on chat support to get the bet refunded! Because if you do, the $40 pop will win untouched and you will feel like an even bigger goose!

The Any Time in Real Life Omen

This omen could be applied for the great sports of AFL or Rugba Leeg.

It’s simple, if you see a player of any code in the flesh the week of a game, you have to put them into your same game multi as an any time goal/try scorer.

If you don’t, you’ll learn the hard way!

What’s in a Name?

This is obvious. You see a pony going round and it shares a name with a mate or loved one.

You back it. Every time. Because if you don’t sure as anything it wins.

But this omen goes even further.

If you hear a peculiar word throughout the week, keep it in mind when studying the form. If you see a horse with that word in its name, the universe is giving you a sign.

At the Track

If you ever get the chance to see these equine beauties in person before a race, pay attention.

If a horse looks you straight in the eye, it’s essentially saying “today is the day mate, I’m ready to go”.

We had a mate who swears a horse actually winked at him in the mounting yard. Of course it went on to win at big odds!

Go With Your Gut

This applies to punting across any sport.

What’s the first thing you thought when assessing the form? What do your instincts tell you about who wins this game of footy?

Back yourself!

Keep an eye out for omens drifters, they come in lots of different forms!
