Peter Moody’s 2021 Melbourne Cup Tips

Peter Moody’s 2021 Melbourne Cup Tips

Peter Moody has the 2021 Melbourne Cup favourite Incentivise and it should come as no surprise that he has him on top of his Melbourne Cup tips.

Who does he think are the main dangers?

Moods has analysed every horse in the field and his complete 2021 Melbourne Cup tips are now available.

Winner – Incentivise

He is in great order and I am pleased with his overall condition.

Barrier 16 is not a bad gate for him and I think they will roll along pretty strongly down the straight the first time, but I think Brett Prebble will ride him in a similar fashion to the Caulfield Cup.

He might be three or four deep going past the post for the first time, but then he can work to where he needs to be.

He has had a faultless preparation into this.

Am I as confident as I was the Caulfield Cup. No.

We go to 3200 metres for the first time and we are another one deeper into a preparation, so you keep asking yourself does the horse have another one in him.

He hasn’t improved off his Caulfield Cup run, but I am confident that his condition has held and his form will hold.

2nd – Twilight Payment

Twilight Payment has been there and done it.

I know that he has the top-weight, but I respect the fact that he is a seasoned campaigner and he comes here in good form.

Joseph O’Brien knows how to travel a horse and he has trained two Melbourne Cup winners already.

You have to give him a great chance.

3rd – Tralee Rose

Tralee Rose has no weight on her back and is a stayer that still has upside.

She showed her toughness to win the Geelong Cup and she is one of the fittest stayers in this field.

Barrier 12 is perfect for her and she will have every possible chance in the run.

4th – Floating Artist

Floating Artist has snuck into the Melbourne Cup field and I expect him to perform extremely well.

He hasn’t had any luck in the Coongy Cup or the Moonee Valley Gold Cup, but he is clearly going well.

The stable of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace are in outstanding form and they are brilliant trainers of stayers.
