2022 Torney Night Cup Preview

2022 Torney Night Cup Preview

The Torney Night Cup highlights another massive meeting at The Valley for Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights.

We have analysed every single race on the card and our complete 2022 Torney Night Cup tips can be found below.

Quest Moonee Valley Plate (955m) - Race 1 6:30pm

This is a tricky way to start the night and there isn’t a huge amount of exposed form to go on.

The market is keen on Avoid Me and the McEvoy stable always need to be respected in two-year-old races, but I am happy to stay out from a betting perspective.

BMD Group Handicap (1600m) - Race 2 6:45pm

This is one of the most open races of the night and there are a host of winning chances.

Lacrima is a lightly-raced mare that has been racing well without winning this campaign.

There has been plenty to like about her past two race starts and she should get a lovely run right on the speed with Declan Bates in the saddle.

Daemco Handicap (2040m) - Race 3 7:15pm

Angel Rock has gone to another level this campaign and she has an excellent chance to claim another race win.

She has scored two wins from her past five race starts and there was plenty to like about her last start effort at Caulfield.

Barrier four is ideal and Josh Richards will be able to settle her right on the speed.

Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 13 (955m) - Race 4 7:45pm

The market suggests that this is a race in three between Yulong Command, Lunar Hero and Capital Reign.

I am sticking with Yulong Command.

He has scored four wins from his five race starts at The Valley and he has a great record in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge.

The Written Tycoon gelding has speed to burn and Matthew Cartwright will be able to settle him right on the speed.

2 Units Yulong Command

melba & me Handicap (1600m) - Race 5 8:15pm

This looks like the perfect race for Austrata.

He returned to the races with a third place finish behind Gentleman Roy last start and he didn’t have any luck in running.

The Australia gelding should take good benefit from his first-up effort and if he does that he will go to a level that can’t be matched by any other horse in the field.

Barrier four is perfect for him and Damien Oliver in the saddle is a big positive.

Listed Torney Night Cup (2500m) - Race 6 8:45pm

This is an excellent edition of the Torney Night Cup and Daqiansweet Junior could be a serious stayer.

He has recorded four wins on the trot and he just keeps on improving every time that he has been seen at the races.

The form coming out of his last start win at The Valley has been excellent and this race isn’t that much tougher.

Jamie Kah can roll forward from the wide barrier draw and he will give his rivals something to catch.

MSC Signs Electrical Services Handicap (1200m) - Race 7 9:15pm

Michigan is well-placed to make a winning start to the races.

He has scored two wins and two placings from his five race starts and he still has plenty of upside.

It really would not surprise to see him go to another level this campaign and I think that he can win better races than this one.

2 Units Michigan

Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap (1200m) - Race 8 9:45pm

Elite Icon is deserving of his status as a dominant favourite and I am happy to take him one out in the quaddie.

He was very good on debut at Flemington and he was nothing short of dominant when he won by four and a half lengths at The Valley last start.

The Nicconi gelding is a very exciting gelding and he should prove too classy for the rest of this field.
