SPECIAL INVESTIGATION: Who is the Coach of Essendon?

SPECIAL INVESTIGATION: Who is the Coach of Essendon?

It’s all happening at Essendon.

Rome/Tullamarine/Windy Hill is burning.

The board has been split, the coach was going to be sacked but wasn’t (for now) and it seems like Essendon is going ALL IN to get Alastair Clarkson to bring the club back to the promised land.

But it turns out Ben Rutten is still the coach…for now and by the time you are reading this, he might not be.

We might be two weeks out from finals, the action on the field has been great but all focus will be on the 15th placed Bombers in the final week of the season.

However, a special investigation along with leaks coming out of the Bombers can reveal who they want for coach should things collapse with Rutten.

Alastair Clarkson

Clarkson, Alastair

Mr A. Clarkson

The bloke who coached Hawthorn from 2005 – 2021

A man whose playing career is best remembered for going the biff in an exhibition game in London for North Melbourne against Carlton back in 1987

Other candidates

James Hird

He’s back at the Giants, all is forgiven, the ultimate redemption story.

Adrian Dodoro

Is there anything he can’t do?

Kevin Sheedy

Still the most recent Bombers coach to get them to a premiership…and a finals win.

#BringBackSheeds

Robbo

There’s no doubting that Robbo loves the Bombers and will coach with passion.

Get him off the Herald Sun/AFL 360 desk and into the Bombers coaches box.

Matthew Lloyd

Saints won’t even have him to help Max King out with his goal kicking.

Ross Lyon

Has already e-mailed his CV.

Matthew Knights

All is forgiven.

The Bombers could give Knighta another chance

The West Footscray coach who told a player to “PUT HIS PHONE DOWN”

Toadie Rebecchi

Needs a job, and one-time Erinsbourgh stud, Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi does barrack for Essendon.

Ryan Maloney, the actor could just reprise the role and be Toadie when coaching the Bombers.

Big Ted

Far better than Little Ted, prefers the Rocket Clock – just what the Bombers need.

Dermott Brereton

Time to put a line in the sand.
