Great Barrier Reef 5th at Warwick Farm
Great Barrier Reef ran a competitive race at Warwick Farm on Monday, finishing 5th beaten a little over a length.
With Tim Clark aboard, he jumped okay from barrier four and was allowed to drift back to find cover in the early stages. Coming to the bend he was tracking into the race nicely before peeling out and looking a strong chance at the 250m before peaking on his run late.
The stable will look to freshen him up and drop him back in distance for his next start, along with adding blinkers. There is a three year old Benchmark 72 race on his home track of Rosehill on the 1st of July.
No Luck For Our Chasers in Features
Zipping Remus took on some of the nation’s best chasers in the Group 2 Flying Amy Classic on Thursday night at just his 8th career start. Unfortunately, he was squeezed shortly after the lids opened, putting paid to his chances.
Ladbrokes Racing Club members cheered on Zipping Remus on course at Albion Park and despite the result, they enjoyed a great night of hospitality.
Zipping Remus returns to Wentworth Park this Wednesday night, drawing box six in race seven (9.09pm). With some even luck he should go close to recording win number five from nine starts.
Likewise, Barbeque Man had no luck in the Winter Cup final at Cannington. Beginning fairly from box 7 he encountered a scrimmage on the first turn which put him out of contention.
In addition to Zipping Remus, Carlecatup will line up in Race 6 at Cannington on Wednesday night. After taking on some of the best chasers in WA, Carlecatup returns to a grade when she should be very competitive. She’s come up with box eight in race six over 520 metres at Cannington, set down for 10.31pm EST.

Stradbroke Season Finale
It was an epic finale to the Brisbane Racing Club’s Stradbroke Season with the running of the Group 1 Ladbrokes J.J. Atkins and Group 1 The Star Stradbroke Handicap.
Think About It continued his amazing winning streak with victory in the Stradbroke, his second group one victory on the bounce. He looks to be a star of the future for trainer Joe Pride and Proven Thoroughbreds.
King Colorado made the quantum leap from a maiden victory to Group 1 success, taking out the Ladbrokes J.J. Atkins at just his third race start. It was an impressive win from the Maher-Eustace trained colt and his big team of owners.
Just Believe Sensational in Sweden
The Larajay Farm team of Jess Tubbs and Greg Sugars continue to showcase Australian trotting to the world with the exploits of Inter Dominion Trotting Championship winner Just Believe.
After a luckless Elitloppet experience, Just Believe showed he belongs on the world stage with a fast finishing third in the Group 2 Jämtland Stora Pris in Östersund, Sweden. He will now likely head to the Group 1 Norrbottens Stora Pris at Boden on June 17.
We will very shortly announce a new inclusion to the Ladbrokes Racing Club stable in conjunction with Alabar Farms to be trained by Jess Tubbs at Larajay Farm. This smart pacer was Group 2 placed as a 3YO and is a winner of six races to date. Stay tuned to the platform for more details.
Kanazawa Progressing Towards A Return
Kanazawa continues to step up his work as he progresses towards a racetrack return. Trainers Matt Hoysted and Steve O’Dea have been pleased with the gelding’s fast gallops and he will likely have a barrier trial in the coming weeks.
