Hitouts For Our Thoroughbreds
Despite having no thoroughbred representatives racing in the red and white this week, there are a number of smart types scheduled to trial or jump out in the coming days as they close in on a raceday debut for the Ladbrokes Racing Club.
Brazen Beau filly Selbst is progressing nicely for the Clayton Douglas stable. Clayton is keen to give the 2YO a jumpout at Mornington on Thursday June 22.
Starspangledbanner filly Everly is working well for Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea and will likely trial at Morphettville in a 2YO trial next Monday June 26.
Kanazawa is ticking over beautifully and will likely trial at Deagon on the course proper next Tuesday June 27.
Keep an eye on the Ladbrokes Racing Club platform for replays and further updates from the stable.
Remus Bounces Back
After luck deserted him in the Group 2 Flying Amy Classic, our emerging star Zipping Remus returned to the happy hunting ground of Wentworth Park on Wednesday night, where he recorded a comfortable 2 length win over the 520 in a slick time of 29.62.
The win takes his record to 5 wins from just 9 starts and the John and Minnie Finn kennel have a number of Group 1 options on the table for him with the Brisbane Cup and Ladbrokes Vic Peters Classic both on the horizon.
Regardless of where he lines up, the Ladbrokes Racing Club will be on course on Ladbrokes Vic Peters Classic night at Wenty Park for a terrific night of greyhound racing. Stay tuned for ballot details.
In other greyhound news, Holy Wreck continued his great affinity with the Geelong circuit, registering his 6th win at the venue on Friday night with a smart win over the 460m trip in 26.03 – a best of the night performance. He’ll likely back up again this Saturday night at Geelong.
Also racing this week will be Amendola, who will be looking to atone for his unplaced effort last week, drawing box seven in Race 9 at Albion Park over 710 metres on Thursday night.
Book Of Love (box one) looks the biggest threat, but we’re hoping Amendola gives them all something to chase, as he is capable of leading here.
Introducing Nonparreil
Talented pacing mare Nonparreil is the latest addition to the Ladbrokes Racing Club harness ranks, joining the team in partnership with Alabar Stud Farms.
Nonparreil is a six-time winner from just 23 starts and she boasts a 1:56.8 mile rate which makes her highly competitive on the metropolitan circuit. She has performed well at the top level, registering a Group 2 placing in the Alabar Home Grown Classic as a 3YO and competing in a number of Group 1 races against her own age.
