Geelong - Race 6 8:48pm AEST

No. 1 Explicit

Explicit is a young chaser on the rise who already boasts a record of three wins and two seconds from five starts.

The Jason Thompson-trained son of Bernardo was unlucky last start when checking the heels of the leader before coming again late to finish a close second at The Meadows.

He’d won his three starts prior to that, all in impressive style.

He’s a quick beginner and should be able to make full use of the inside box.

Geelong - Race 8 9:30pm AEST

No. 2 Plaintiff

Plaintiff was last seen almost a year ago finishing third in the Group 1 Melbourne Cup Final.

He was retired to stud with a hock injury so it must be respected that champion trainer Jason Thompson thinks he is going well enough to bring him back to the races.

He’s warmed up for this with a trial over 385m at Shepparton where he clocked 21.61 seconds.

On his best step, he’ll lead from box 2 and be very hard to catch.

Geelong - Race 9 9:49pm AEST

No. 8 Orli Bale

Orli Bale has an abundance of ability but his race craft can let him down at times.

The son of Orson Allen impressed when winning his maiden over 460m here but since then things have not gone to plan.

A recent trial where he scorched the sand over this course and distance in a blistering 22.40 seconds should have him back on the right track.

His best runs have come from wide boxes so box 8 looks ideal.

Geelong - Race 10 10:10pm AEST

No. 2 Verdi

Verdi has started his career in perfect fashion with two excellent wins.

The Jason Thompson-trained chaser has demonstrated an ability to muster speed quickly in his wins at Shepparton and Warragul.

He clocked the quickest time of the night from this box in his maiden win so the stripes suit.

With a vacant box to his outside, he’ll be able to build momentum into the turn and should prove hard to hold out.
