Wentworth Park - Race 4 8:20pm AEDT

No. 1 Sammy Ethan

Sammy Ethan can be forgiven for his first loss last start when encountering trouble.

Prior to that, the son of Fernando Bale started his career in sensational fashion with two wins in quick time over this course and distance.

On both occasions he easily ran sub 30 seconds so from the inside box, he’ll be hard to run down if he gets on the arm.

No. 1 Embrace

Embrace is a Group 1 winner that looks well placed in this fourth grade contest.

The Craig Chappelow-trained bitch boasts a terrific record over this course and distance with 11 wins.

Two of those came just three and four starts ago when she spaced her rivals in winning times of 29.73 and 29.75 seconds.

She has the early speed to make the most of box 1.

No. 2 Brother Onyx

Brother Onyx will appreciate the drop in class after finishing towards the back of the pack in the Ladbrokes Christmas Gift heats.

The son of Turanza Bale has a great record over this course and distance and has regularly broken 30 seconds.

That happened just two starts ago when he recorded his best time of 29.85 seconds in a strong win.

He’s ideally drawn in box 2 and can go all the way.

No. 8 Irinka Daniel

Irinka Daniel brained his rivals over this course and distance last start in a career best performance.

The son of Feral Franky went straight to the front from box 1 and increased his lead the further the race went, winning by 9.25 lengths in 29.80 seconds.

He draws the outside box here but it shouldn’t stop him if he begins like last start.
