No. 7 Trunky Chief

Trunky Chief will appreciate dropping back to a No City Wins race after competing in a heat of the Ladbrokes National Derby last start.

The son of Fernando Bale won over this course and distance two starts ago.

However, he registered a personal best of 29.78 seconds the start prior to that when finishing second to Kangaroo Jack.

If he runs up to that then he’ll be hard to hold out.

No. 1 Zipping Optimise

Zipping Optimise didn’t have the best of luck when finishing fifth in a time of 29.81 seconds in a heat of the Ladbrokes National Derby last start.

The Jason Magri-trained speedster won’t know himself back in a No City Wins race.

Two starts back he scorched the Wentworth Park sand when stopping the clock in 29.58 seconds.

He started from the red box that night and does so again here.

No. 8 Not Without

Not Without makes his first appearance at Wentworth Park after winning his first two starts impressively at Richmond.

The son of Barcia Bale won on debut over 520m in 29.60 seconds before breaking the clock with a 29.34 second win.

The combined margin of victory was a whopping 17.5 lengths!

He possesses elite early speed so should be able to cross from the outside box.

No. 2 Ritza Smoke

Ritza Smoke looks the one to beat in this small field of six.

The Fernando Bale chaser is only lightly raced and gave a good account of himself last start when finishing second in a heat of the Ladbrokes National Derby.

He’s run well in all five career starts but his best effort came on debut when winning over this course and distance in 29.95 seconds.

He exited this box that night and if he gets on the arm, he will prove hard to run down.
