No. 3 Aidan’s Queen

Aidan’s Queen steps up to 520m for the first time but looks ready and capable of handling the extra distance.

The daughter of Fernando Bale has won three of her past four starts including last start over 395m here when jumping straight to the front and finishing off strongly for a 5.75 length win in 22.51 seconds.

She has a terrific record from box 3, winning three of four starts.

I’d expect her to get on the arm early and give them something to catch.

No. 1 I’m Peakin’

I’m Peakin’ is racing in the best form of his career, winning three of his past four races.

Last start the Jedda Cutlack-trained dog recorded a personal best time of 30.26 seconds when winning by two lengths over this course and distance.

He led all the way that night recording a quick first split so that bodes well with him drawing the inside box.

No. 8 Portman’s Lass

Portman’s Lass recorded a personal best over this course and distance when winning last start.

The Warren Nicholls-trained bitch led all the way from box 4 to stop the clock in 35.14 seconds.

She jumps from box 8 and won the QGold Emerging Stayers Final in 35.16 seconds when wearing the pink rug four starts back.

If she leaves the boxes cleanly then she’ll take some catching.

No. 8 Very Handy

Very Handy enters this Fifth Grade Final in good form after recording the quickest heat time last week.

The son of Bernardo was a step slow when the lids opened but quickly mustered speed to lead into the first turn and go on for a 1.75 length win in 30.20 seconds.

The winner of seven from 13 over the course and distance has a best of 29.94 seconds which looks too quick for his rivals to achieve.

He can cross from box 8 and go all the way.
