Caulfield - Race 2 12:15PM AEST
No. 1 Mawallock
Mawallock looks primed for a bold showing first-up following a 29-week spell.
The Lindsay Smith-trained mare has won four of her five career starts including an easy two length win over this distance at Hamilton last start.
She has warmed up for this first-up assignment with two jump outs with the most recent piece of work resulting in a huge win despite being under a hold.
Tayla Childs’ 3kg claim in beneficial and she maps to get a beautiful run.
Eagle Farm - Race 3 12:38PM AEST
No. 3 Typhoon Taavi
Typhoon Taavi has been setting the Doomben track alight lately and will look to do the same thing at Eagle Farm.
The Tony Gollan-trained daughter of I Am Invincible controlled the race from in front two starts back when easily winning by 1.5 lengths over 1200m at Doomben.
She repeated the dose last start over the same track and trip, but that time she demoralised her opponents with a four-length victory.
Tahlia Fenlon has been aboard for both wins and her 3kg claim is beneficial.
Eagle Farm - Race 4 1:13PM AEST
No. 11 Blakmax
Blakmax returned in good order last start when finishing second to Typhoon Taavi over 1200m at Doomben.
The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old gelding settled a long way back after drawing the outside barrier before charging through the pack to finish four-lengths behind the speedster.
He’ll take benefit from the run and boasts a second-up record of two wins and a second from three starts.
Given the way he powered through the line, the rise to 1400m looks ideal with the massive weight drop.
Caulfield - Race 10 4:55PM AEST
No. 2 Chorlton Lane
Chorlton Lane impressed when resuming at Bendigo last start.
The Ciaron Maher-trained four-year-old gelding had a solid fitness base leading into his first-up assignment which helped him let down powerfully from the back to win easily by 1.5 lengths.
The form from the race has been franked with Extratwo and Green Fly, who were second and third, winning their next starts well.
He remains in the same class and with Celine Gaudray’s claim, he’ll carry just 1.5kg more than last start.
