BEST BET
TOM HOGE
Hoge is not at that elite level of the PGA Tour but he is only a step or two behind and that is more than good enough for this 3M Open where the field is weak and filled with bubble boys.
The 2022 Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner has loved it here with three Top 25 finishes in five starts including a T-4 in 2022.
Ranks second in Strokes Gained: Approach, sixth in Birdie or Better and 14th in Putting Average.
Made the cut in two of three majors this year and is back to his 2022 form.
BEST VALUE
ERIK VAN ROOYEN
Highly talented South African who has won twice on the PGA Tour and can add to that record in the Twin Cities.
Another to make the cut in two of three majors this year, he finished T-6 in key correlation tournament the Rocket Mortgage Classic two starts back.
Ranks 12th in GIR and 13th in Birdie or Better and this is a nice setup for him.
MACKENZIE HUGHES
Canadian Mackenzie Hughes is one of the most underrated players on Tour and if he is suffering no letdown from his T-16 at the Open Championship then he is a huge runner.
Hughes has Top 16 finishes in five of his last 12 starts, ranks fifth in Eagles, eighth in Strokes Gained: Putting and 11th in Putting Average.
Looks huge value.
BEST ROUGHIES
PATTON KIZZIRE
Veteran Patton Kizzire has been a regular roughie tip and that is because he just keeps putting in.
The 38yo has five Top 25s in his last nine starts and has done so on the back of a super short game.
His iron game has also been bag on too ranking third in GIR, 11th in Strokes Gained: Approach and 11th in Birdie or Better.
GREYSON SIGG
Greyson Sigg’s form has fallen away a little of late with six missed cuts in his last seven starts.
This is a course that suits his style, in two starts here he has a best of T-7.
He ranks Top 15 in Bogey Avoidance, Strokes Gained: Approach and GIR.
If his irons are on he will have a nice tournament.
TOP ENGLISH
MATT WALLACE
Matt Wallace is the most accomplished Englishman in this field so it is surprising to see him second favourite.
He was solid making the cut at The Open and has three Top 20s in his seven prior stats.
Ranks Top 10 for Eagles and that will serve him well here.
TOP SOUTH AFRICAN
ERIK VAN ROOYEN
Van Rooyen is among the better bets to win the tournament and it is stunning he is black odds to finish top of the four South Africans in the field.
Second-fave Thriston Lawrence surely suffers a comedown from his Sunday at the Open.
