The new PGA Tour season kicks off in California with the old Fortinet Championship now known as the Procore Championship, an event won by the likes of Max Homa, Mike Weir and Stewart Cink.

Key Stats/Skill Set Required

  • Strokes Gained Tee To Green
  • Scrambling
  • Strokes Gained: Off The Tee
  • Strokes Gained: Approach
  • Going For Green
  • Par 4 Scoring
  • Bogey Avoidance
  • Birdie or Better
  • Proximity 75-100 Yards

Silverado is a resort course that is low on the difficulty scale.

Form from the tee is helpful but this is a second shot course where the irons are critical to success and aggression is rewarded.

Key Correlation Courses/Tournaments

  • Valero Texas Open
  • Sony Open

BEST BET

WYNDHAM CLARK

It is stunning that US Open winner Wyndham Clark is not the clearcut favourite for the Procore Championship.

Clark is in super form with Top 14 finishes in six of his last seven events.

He profiles beautifully for here, leading the Tour last season in proximity from under 100 yards while ranking fifth in Birdie or Better, 11th in Going For Green and 14th in Par 4 Scoring.

Clark won’t get many better chances this year to add to his three Tour victories.

BEST VALUE

KEITH MITCHELL

‘Cashmere’ Keith mixed his form last season but certainly seemed to show his best when playing in California.

The sweet swinging Mitchell profiles superbly here, ranking third in Birdie or Better, fourth in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, sixth in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and in Strokes Gained: Approach as well as 14th in Par 4 Scoring.

Finished Top 15 in the Texas Open last season, a good guide for this.

CHAN KIM

Chan Kim is yet to win on the PGA Tour but he is a 10-time pro winner including twice on the Korn Ferry Tour.

He played very well last season on the big tour with seven Top 15 finishes.

Kim has a game that should suit Silverado, ranking Top 15 in Scrambling, Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, Par 4 Scoring, Bogey Avoidance and Birdie or Better.

Finished 14th in this year’s Texas Open.

BEST ROUGHIES

ANDREW PUTNAM

Veteran and Tour winner Andrew Putnam is a correlation course specialist that can have a big tournament this week at odds.

Putnam has finished Top 10 in the last two Sony Opens while he finished 14th at the Texas Open last year.

Finished 2024 ranking third in Par 4 Scoring and 10th in Bogey Avoidance. Perennially underrated in these tournaments.

BEN SILVERMAN

Canadian Ben Silverman is really emerging as a quality player and love his value this week at north of 100-1.

He posted six Top 20s on Tour last year after upping from the Korn Ferry Tour.

Ranks fifth in Scrambling, fifth in Bogey Avoidance and seventh in Par 4 Scoring.

TOP AUSTRALIAN

AARON BADDELEY

Only three Aussies tee it up this week and Min Woo Lee is dominating the betting but Aarond Baddeley looks value.

Baddeley finished second in Scrambling last season and that will take him a long way.

TOP SOUTH AMERICAN

JHONATTAN VEGAS

Johnny Vegas is enjoying a renaissance in his form and it has him primed to be top South American here.

Vegas ranks Top 15 in Strokes Gained: Off The Tee and Going For Green.
