Doomben will play host to Queensland metropolitan racing this Wednesday where seven races are scheduled to be run and won.

The rail is out 8.5m the entire course and unfortunately a storm on race day is forecast so it will pay to monitor.

We’ve provided our top selections for your consideration in each race below.

Race 1 - 2:53PM AEDT

Maiden Plate (1600 METRES)

You Kay Squeeze (10) looks close to a win after finishing runner-up in her past two starts.

The Desleigh Forster-trained daughter of Jungle Cat let down powerfully two starts back at Ipswich to record the fastest closing 600m and 200m splits of the race to finish a nose second.

Last start she went forward over this course and distance and gave a good sight but was overpowered late to finish 1.8 lengths second.

Robbie Dolan should make use of the good gate and settle in a prominent position.

1 Unit – You Kay Squeeze (10)

Race 2 - 3:28PM AEDT

Maiden Plate (1350 METRES)

Tuff Tu Mus (4) has a great chance to break through for his first win after finishing second in both his career starts.

The David Vandyke-trained All Too Hard gelding ran on strongly from the back to finish a neck second over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast despite suffering from heat stress.

Last start he worked early from the outside barrier to go forward over 1300m at Eagle Farm and gave a good sight but was run down late to finish a nose second.

He’ll strip fitter third-up and draws to get a beautiful run for Jimmy Orman.

2 Units – Tuff Tu Mus (4)

Race 3 - 4:03PM AEDT

QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1350 METRES)

He’s A Saint (1) returns to the races for the first time since making his debut at Toowoomba over 1300m in July.

The Tony & Maddy Sears-trained son of Tarzino was no match for Shadow Power, who subsequently won, but found the line well to finish three lengths second.

He’s had a trial leading into this where he turned in a solid piece of work that will have prepared him well for this first-up assignment.

Andrew Mallyon should settle in a handy position given there doesn’t look to be a great deal of speed in the race.

1 Unit – He’s A Saint (1)

Race 4 - 4:38PM AEDT

BM68 Handicap (1110 METRES)

Beautantes (3) registered the fastest final 400m of the race when winning by half a length over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast two starts back.

Last start the Rob Heathcote-trained gelding was strong through the line when finishing 1.8 lengths third over 1200m at Eagle Farm in a stronger race than this.

He drops back slightly in distance but is a previous winner at the track.

He’s drawn beautifully in barrier 3 which should see Noel Callow settle in a handy position.

1 Unit – Beautantes (3)

Race 5 - 5:13PM AEDT

Class 1 Handicap (1650 METRES)

Out Of Aces (1) caught the eye when having his first start for Stu Kendrick after previously racing with the Neasham stable in Sydney.

The son of Dundeel resumed over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast and registered the quickest final 200m of the race when charging to the line to finish third by 1.3 lengths.

He then impressed last start when looking a different class as he put his rivals away easily in the straight to win by 1.8 lengths over this course and distance.

The use of Cody Collis’ 3kg claim is astute and the young hoop should give his mount a great run.

1 Unit – Out Of Aces (1)

Race 6 - 5:48PM AEDT

BM68 Handicap (2050 METRES)

Majorian (1) will appreciate racing in an easier Queensland race after competing well in stronger Sydney races.

The Neasham & Archibald-trained gelding struggled a touch in a Benchmark 72 Handicap at Warwick Farm last start.

However, the start prior he was tenacious when fighting to win by a head at Hawkesbury over 2000m which was his third win from four starts over this distance.

Jag Guthmann-Chester can give him an economical run from the inside barrier.

1 Unit – Majorian (1)

Race 7 - 6:23PM AEDT

BM65 Handicap (1350 METRES)

Ellibaby (6) has started her career in good form and looks well placed again.

The David Vandyke-trained mare returned to the races for the first time since winning on debut two starts back over 1200m at the Sunshine Coast and fought gamely after working in the run to finish 2.5 lengths fourth.

She then stormed home over 1200m here last start to finish a nose second to signal she wasn’t far from a win.

Ryan Maloney has a great winning strike-rate with the stable should be able to give her a great run from the inside barrier.

2 Units – Ellibaby (6)
