With Tropical Cyclone Alfred behind us, chasing returned to the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club this week and to mark the occasion we’ve provided a Thursday Albion Park Greyhounds Preview.

Twelve races are scheduled to be run and won, and we’ve provided a tip for each race and our best bets below.

Race 1 - 7:25pm AEDT

Garrard's Horse and Hound Novice 520m

Star Turn (8) has drawn box 8 for the fifth time in his eight career starts.

The Jeff Crawford-trained dog jumped from this box over this course and distance three races ago and loomed as the winner but just couldn’t get past the leader to finish a nose second.

It was a similar situation last start when he finished third.

However, sandwiched in between those runs he proved too strong over this course and distance to win in 30.29 seconds.

A repeat of that effort should see him fighting out the finish.

Race 2 - 7:43pm AEDT

brisgreys.com Free For All 710m

This is a very even Free For All with these dogs having been racing each other and taking turns at winning lately.

Maid In Space (8) ran on strongly to win over this course and distance last start when clocking 42.23 seconds.

The Space Star bitch had been building to a win after finishing second to Shine A Light the star prior and third to distance champion Valpolicella three starts back.

She boasts a good record from box 8 and did record her personal best time when wearing the pink rug.

Race 3 - 8:04pm AEDT

Ladbrokes Mates Mode Pots 5th Grade 520m

Zipping Rove (4) started favourite and proved too strong when winning over this course and distance last start.

The Tom Tzouvelis-trained dog landed in front from box 1 before dashing clear to win by seven lengths in 30.40 seconds.

He’s only lightly raced and may have more upside than his rivals.

He produced his best jump last start and a repeat of that should see him hard to beat.

1 Unit – Zipping Rove (4)

Race 4 - 8:25pm AEDT

Rosewood Veterinary Service 5th Grade 520m

Journey (7) was very good in his first start over this course and distance.

Following a slow start from box 4, she stormed home to finish second in 30.47 seconds.

The Jemma Daley-trained dog brought good New South Wales form having finished back-to-back seconds at The Gardens and a fourth-place finish in the Muswellbrook Cup.

She’ll be better for the experience and is now at peak fitness.

1 Unit – Journey (7)

Race 5 - 8:43pm AEDT

Ladbrokes Blackbook 5th Grade 520m

Becky Dutton (6) will appreciate the drop in grade after competing in Open company at Ipswich lately.

The Casey Dargusch-trained bitch showed good speed four starts back when leading all the way over 520m at Ipswich.

While she is yet to win in seven starts over this course and distance, she does boast a personal best time of 30.28 seconds when finishing second to Dahwinnie.

She has the capability to jump quickly and a repeat of her best first split of 5.50 seconds will see her lead.

Race 6 - 9:04pm AEDT

Box 1 Photography 5th Grade 520m

Chatterbug (8) loves this course and distance having won three of four starts over it.

Unfortunately, the only miss was from this box when she blew the start badly.

Last start the daughter of Lots Of Chatter recorded a personal best time of 29.82 seconds when she exploded at lid rise before putting an 8.75 length gap in them.

She’s an up-and-coming talent and just needs to jump cleanly.

Race 7 - 9:28pm AEDT

Sky Racing 4th/5th Grade 520m

Danger Zone (2) can be suspect late over this course and distance but looks well placed against this field.

The Travis Elson-trained dog led here last start before being run down in the shadows of the post to finish second in 30.04 seconds.

It was a similar scenario for the G2 Golden Ticket finalist the start prior.

She should lead from box 2 and hang on to win.

Race 8 - 9:46pm AEDT

Gorski Engineering 3rd/4th Grade 520m

Super Scrub (4) is racing in ripping form and is in search of his fourth win in a row.

Travis Elson’s Fernando Bale dog won over 350m at Grafton by six lengths before winning over 450m in best of the night times of 24.99 and 25.03 seconds.

He looks ready to return to 520m and he does boast a personal best of 29.95 seconds over this course and distance.

He can lead this field and go all the way to salute as our Albion Park Greyhounds Preview best bet.

2 Units – Super Scrub (4)

Race 9 - 10:08pm AEDT

Sennachie @ Stud - Steve White 5th Grade 600m

Canya Cash In (5) has enjoyed the rise to this course and distance.

The Jemma Daley-trained dog was a step slow last start and raced wide throughout, but despite that he worked to the line well to finish second.

His two starts prior saw him jump well and register big wins in best of the night times of 34.94 seconds and 35.05 seconds.

He’s yet to win from box 5 but should be able to cross to take up a forward position and run time.

1 Unit – Canya Cash In (5)

Race 10 - 10:30pm AEDT

Aspley Leagues Club 5th Grade 520m

Howdy Hope (1) doesn’t win out of turn but meets the right opposition to add another a win to her record.

The Cynthia Elson-trained bitch last enjoyed success five starts back over this course and distance when exiting this box and storming home to win in 30.13 seconds.

She can be a touch slow at box rise but on her best jump she can lead this field and if that’s the case then she looks one of the better bets in our Albion Park Greyhounds Preview.

2 Units – Howdy Hope (1)

Race 11 - 10:49pm AEDT

Kedron Wavell Services Club M5 520m

Obliging Bill (7) bounced back to form four starts ago when dropping back to 331m with a win.

The Cynthia Elson-trained dog won back-to-back races over this course and distance in 30.42 and 30.49 seconds.

While he couldn’t make it a hattrick of wins last start, he nearly recorded a personal best of 30.26 seconds when finishing second.

He has the early speed to cross from box 7.

1 Unit – Obliging Bill (7)

Race 12 - 11:05pm AEDT

Brothers Rugby Union Club M5 520m

Anna Bella (5) tried hard over this course and distance but just couldn’t get in from box 8 early and finished third in a personal best of 30.32 seconds.

Two starts back, the daughter of Aussie Infrared settled second before motoring home to win in 30.44 seconds.

She’s a previous squeeze box winner and has the speed to cross and get on the arm.
