Twelve races are scheduled to be run and won this Thursday night at ‘The Creek’ and you can find all the good oil in our Albion Park Greyhounds Preview

The meeting is sure to provide some exciting chasing with heats of the Brisbane Young Guns and the Legacy Classic Final on the menu.

I’m particularly keen on a dog that is shooting for his tenth win in a row and lines up in a heat of the Brisbane Young Guns.

These Thursday night previews have been running hot for the past six weeks, so you’d be foolish not to check out who I’m keen on in each race below.

Race 1 - 6:42pm AEST

Garrard's Horse and Hound 6th Grade 520m

This is an intriguing 6th Grade with a pair of new chasers who look to have ability and I’d suggest the contest will prove to be a good form race going forward.

Kisses For Me (4) scorched the sand when winning over 431m at Ipswich on debut last start.

The Jeff Crawford-trained bitch flew out of box 6 to lead by three lengths leading into the back straight but extending that to 10.25 lengths on the line in a 25.03 second romp.

She was strong through the line so the rise to 520m should suit and she has the early speed to either lead or be handy.

1 Unit – Kisses For Me (4)

Race 2 - 7:01pm AEST

Ladbrokes Black Book 5th/6th Grade 710m

Akela Iaido (8) fought gamely but was no match for Cheers For Bella over this course and distance last start when finishing second on 42.11 seconds.

The son of Ballymac Kingdom was excellent the start prior when proving too strong in a three-length win in 42.03 seconds.

He’s improved with each run over this distance and is racing in super form at the moment.

While he has never won in six starts from box 8, he has finished in the placings four times and he does look to have a strength edge of this field.

1 Unit – Akela Iaido (8)

Race 3 - 7:25pm AEST

Followers of the Ladbrokes Thursday night Albion Park Greyhounds Preview will know I have a love affair with Ace’s Chance (3) and that he’s been very good to us.

The Jeff Crawford-trained dog bounced back to winning form last start when dropping back to 600m here and leading all the way for a slick 34.75 second win.

The start prior he was awfully unlucky when stuck behind a tiring leader but before that he won three in a row including once over this course and distance in 42.11 seconds.

He has the speed to lead and go all the way.

1 Unit – Ace’s Chance (3)

Race 4 - 7:49pm AEST

Legacy Classic Final 520m

Backcreek Benny (7) is racing in sublime form and is looking to win for the tenth time in a row.

The son of Sennachie returns from a successful trip north where he proved too strong in the G2 Rockhampton Cup.

Prior to that, he won back-to-back races over this course and distance including once in an impressive 29.78 seconds.

He can be a touch tardy at box rise but he possesses a damaging finish and I expect him to claim win number 10 as our Albion Park Greyhounds Preview best bet.

2 Units – Backcreek Benny (7)

Race 5 - 8:10pm AEST

Brisbane Young Guns Heat 520m

Wreck James (3) returned from a spell in great order last start over 457m at Ladbrokes Q1 Lakeside with a strong win in a best of the night 25.45 seconds.

The son of Barcia Bale has a terrific record over this course and distance of six wins from 11 starts and boasts a best time of 29.60 seconds which he set in January.

He ended last preparation with a massive 11.5 length all the way win in 29.84 seconds.

He has the speed to get on the arm.

1 Unit – Wreck James (3)

Race 6 - 8:31pm AEST

Brisbane Young Guns Heat 520m

Uno Nangar (7) has a great record of three wins from five starts out of box 7 which is a good thing as she once again will wear the black rug.

The John Corrigan-trained bitch has been in great form lately with four wins and two seconds from her past seven starts.

A repeat of her performance over this course and distance three starts ago where she led all the way from this box to win in 29.72 seconds will see her hard to beat.

1 Unit – Uno Nangar (7)

Race 7 - 8:56pm AEST

Brisbane Young Guns Heat 520m

Star Turn (1) returns from Rockhampton where he blitzed his rivals in the Cup Consolation Final by five lengths in 29.56 seconds.

The Jeff Crawford-trained dog was flying over this course and distance before that with three wins in a row.

That included a scintillating 4.25 length win over Uno Nangar in 29.78 seconds.

He started from box 1 that night and will wear the red here which should see him get on the arm.

2 Units – Star Turn (1)

Race 8 - 9:15pm AEST

Brisbane Young Guns Heat 520m

Blue Blend (2) produced a career best last start over this course and distance when powering through the second half of the race after a slow start to win in a scorching 29.60 seconds.

The Jeff Crawford-trained dog boasts a good record over this course and distance of two wins and a close second from three starts.

He won his only previous start out of box 2, which was four starts over 520m at Ipswich where he won by five lengths in 30.33 seconds.

He just needs to be handy enough through the first turn as he’ll be charging home.

1 Unit – Blue Blend (2)

Race 9 - 9:37pm AEST

Sky Racing 4th/5th Grade 520m

This is a tricky race to decipher so for our Albion Park Greyhounds Preview tip, I’m going with Aiden’s Queen (6) who may be able to avoid trouble and sneak a win.

The Travis Elson-trained bitch returns from Rockhampton where she finished 2.5 lengths second to Backcreek Benny in her Rockhampton Cup heat before finishing five lengths second to Star Turn in the Consolation Final.

Three starts back she won over this course and distance in 30.09 seconds.

She’s an electric beginner and should be able to find the front.

1 Unit – Aiden’s Queen (6)

Race 10 - 9:55pm AEST

Rosewood Veterinary Service 5th Grade 520m

Miss Darkside (2) can be a bit hit or miss but if she’s on then she’s capable of winning this race.

The daughter of No Easy Beat led all the way over this course and distance two starts ago when winning in 30.08 seconds.

It was a similar scenario fours start back when she won by three lengths in 29.90 seconds.

If she begins as well as she can, she should find the from box 2.

1 Unit – Miss Darkside (2)

Race 11 - 10:16pm AEST

Ladbrokes Racing Club 5th Grade 520m

Loving Angel (3) started well in her first start over this course and distance two starts ago but just couldn’t cross from box 7 and was posted wide but to her credit she fought bravely to finish fourth in 30.31 seconds.

The Jeff Crawford-trained bitch had no trouble here from box 2 last start when jumping straight to the front and going all the way for a three-length win in 30.10 seconds.

She was very good three starts ago when flying out of this box to lead all the way over 520m at Ipswich in 30.66 seconds, so she’s racing in great form.

The dogs drawn to her inside don’t have much speed so she should be able to get on the arm.

1 Unit – Loving Angel (3)

Race 12 - 10:37pm AEST

qldgreys.com M5 520m

Jumping Jive (3) was leading over this course and distance last start when run off the home turn by a rival so I’m forgiving of her finishing last in the field of six.

The daughter of Sennachie was very good the start prior when crossing from box 7 to lead all the way in a 30.33 second win.

Five starts back she saluted over this course and distance in 30.31 seconds and has gone under 30 seconds on several occasions.

She can lead against this field and should prove hard to run down.
