Premier League Darts: Night 13 Preview

Premier League Darts: Night 13 Preview

The Premier League is off to Birmingham for Night 13 with Michael Van Gerwen and Rob Cross on the outside looking into the Top 4 and needing strong showings over the last month to challenge Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall.

Luke Littler v Stephen Bunting

Luke Littler’s form dipped throughout April but an early exit in the Premier League followed by a weekend off the European Tour should have freshened The Nuke up and he should have few problems with Premier League straggler Stephen Bunting.

While there is little between them in two-month averages, Littler is checking out at five percentage points higher.

Bunting beat Littler in the semi at Rotterdam but Littler is too classy and should have the appetite back this week.

Tip: Luke Littler 6-3

Nathan Aspinall v Chris Dobey

Nathan Aspinall and Chris Dobey are great friends but they could not be more different players.

The Asp fights for absolutely everything, grinding out big checkouts and fighting for every score.

Hollywood is an immense scorer who has thrown away plenty of opportunities this year.

Aspinall is 10-2 all-time against Dobey and Dobey has lost in the first round in every Premier League event on English soil this year.

Happy with The Asp here.

Tip: Nathan Aspinall 6-4

Luke Humphries v Gerwyn Price

Welshman Gerwyn Price is one of the hottest players on the planet right now and should be favoured in this one.

The two are averaging about the same over the last two months but Price is checking out at four percentage points higher.

Price rolled Humphries in the final last week and looks outstanding value to get him again.

Tip: Gerwyn Price 6-4

Rob Cross v Michael Van Gerwen

Voltage has dominated MVG in their most recent meetings, winning the last three and six of the last seven.

In their only Premier League meeting this year, Cross won 6-5.

Since March 1, Cross has topped MVG in average and checkout percentage by 2 points apiece respectively.

There is no way MVG should be favoured here.

Tip: Rob Cross 6-4

Nightly Winner

Price is flying at the moment and he will face his toughest match of the night in the opener. He is going too well to ignore though and even on the harder side of the draw offers good value.

Gerwyn Price ($7.00)
