Premier League Darts: Night 15 Preview

Premier League Darts: Night 15 Preview

We have reached the penultimate night of the Premier League regular season with Aberdeen hosting an all-important evening led by the opening quarter final clash between fourth-placed Michael Van Gerwen and fifth-placed Nathan Aspinall with the final playoff spot most-likely on the line.

Michael Van Gerwen v Nathan Aspinall

Nathan Aspinall skipped this week’s Player Championship while MVG was a first round elimination in PC15 before withdrawing from PC16 so both are fresh for this.

The Asp has won three of the four Premier League meetings this year and both are averaging under 95 since April 1 so neither are playing particularly well.

Tip: Nathan Aspinall 6-4

Gerwyn Price v Stephen Bunting

Stephen Bunting has endured a poor return to the Premier League after some high expectations but he looks a cracking bet this week.

No player has averaged more since the start of April than Bunting, who is averaging 100.29.

He also has a great recent record against Price with four wins in the last five meetings.

Price has mixed form all season and looks vulnerable here.

Tip: Stephen Bunting 6-4

Chris Dobey v Rob Cross

Rob Cross needs to win this one to keep alive his longshot hope of reaching the playoffs but Chris Dobey is the best bet of the opening round.

Dobey has won five of the last seven meetings against Cross and since April 1 Dobey is checking out at 44.44% while Cross is at the 41% mark.

Dobey is an outstanding bet.

Tip: Chris Dobey 6-3

Luke Littler v Luke Humphries

After meeting in last week’s final in Leeds, the two best players on the planet will meet in the final opening round clash in Aberdeen.

Cool Hand has won the last two meetings and six of the last nine clashes.

There is nothing between these two at the moment in terms of averages and checkouts so very happy to take the big odds-against to be with Cool Hand.

Tip: Luke Humphries 6-5

Nightly Winner

The draw makes finding a winner in Aberdeen difficult.

Happy to be with Stephen Bunting at big odds to get through the easy side of the draw and cause an upset in the final.
