After a short hiatus, I’m back on deck and ready to roll for Thursday’s Q2 Parklands meeting.
The fields are competitive, the form is juicy, and there’s no better way to return from a freshen-up than with a full slate of greyhound action.
Let’s jump straight into it and find some Q2 Parklands winners!
Fages (3) returned from a long break in fine form over this course and distance last start.
The Tim Britton-trained dog was slow away from box 1, but mustered speed quickly and railed beautifully into the first turn to land in a handy position before finding the line well for a close second in 30.16 seconds.
The former Victorian chaser will strip fitter second-up and just needs to be in striking distance to be running home over this field.

Sooty Keeping (1) will be no spoil price wise but should prove too strong for this field ahead of the National Sprint Championship final Saturday week.
The New South Wales flyer has been racing in super form lately over 520m at Wentworth Park with three consecutive wins.
She produced a personal best last start in the NSW Sprint Championship Final when clocking a slick 29.52 seconds.
She’s no stranger to Q2 Parklands having won the Group 1 Flying Amy Classic Final in June.

Tank Keeping (8) returns to Queensland with kennelmate Sooty Keeping on the back of a solid effort at Wentworth Park that saw him just miss the win in 29.89 seconds.
The son of Feral Franky is no stranger to this course and distance having led all the way here five starts back when winning by three lengths in 29.67 seconds.
This is a rare box 8 start for him but he possesses good early speed which should see him able to cross and find the front.

Light Of Mine (7) has returned to peak fitness after being freshened following a second placing in a heat of the Group 1 Queensland Cup.
The Tim Britton-trained bitch registered a personal best over this course and distance two starts ago when winning a heat of the Queensland Distance Championship by 6.25 lengths in 41.33 seconds.
She returned for the final last start and produced a storming finish for a close second behind Red Dirt Road.
Back to a Fifth Grade, she looks too strong for this field.
7. Light Of Mine (7) 32312T: Tim Britton
Firethorn (8) was checked early in the NSW National Distance Championship final last start and dropped out to finish near the tail as favourite.
The Wow bitch had been in excellent form before that with three wins from four starts including two at The Q.
Five starts back she led all the way over this course and distance to win a heat of the Group 1 Queensland Cup in 41.33 seconds.
This is just her second race wearing the pink rug, but she has the early speed to charge across and lead.
8. Firethorn (8) 12117T: Mark Moroney
Comedy Act (5) looks close to a Masters win after two very good efforts in this grade.
The son of Cosmic Chief led for a long way two starts ago over this course and distance before being run down late to finish 1.75 lengths second in 30.13 seconds.
He returned here last start and found the line strongly after being tardy away to once again finish second by 1.75 lengths in 30.14 seconds.
With a personal best of 29.96 seconds recorded just five starts ago, he’s well poised to be right in the mix at the finish if he can replicate that performance.
5. Comedy Act (5) 38422T: Mick Johnston
Jay Walking (8) returns home from a successful Darwin trip that saw him claim the Group 3 Darwin Cup.
After winning his heat in 31.18 seconds, the son of Fernando Bale burst out of the boxes in the 537m final to lead all the way, not before nearly throwing it away on the home turn when running wide.
He’s raced well over this course and distance in the past having finished in the placings in two of three starts and setting a personal best of 30.27 seconds when finishing near the tail in a heat of the Group 1 Flying Amy Classic.
If he leaves the lids as quickly as he did in Darwin, then he should be able to cross and find a prominent position from box 8.
8. Jay Walking (8) 23311T: Jamie Hosking
Proper Star (2) loves this course and distance having won four of five starts.
The Tom Tzouvelis-trained dog suffered his only defeat over the Q2 Parklands 600m two starts ago when having no luck in the run.
He bounced back last start in a big way when registering a personal best of 34.61 seconds.
On his best jump, he should be able to use box 2 to advantage and settle close if not lead.
2. Proper Star (2) 41351T: Tom Tzouvelis
This is a tough race to work out with only a few of the runners having previously been tested over the course and distance and their results have been less than satisfactory.
One runner that has handled it well is She’s Our Gal (6) who performed admirably three starts ago when finding the line well to finish second in 29.85 seconds.
While the Sh Avatar bitch doesn’t win out of turn, a repeat of that effort should see her hard to beat.
6. She’s Our Gal (6) 53224T: Wayne Dunsmore
Tayla’s Lass (3) faced this course and distance for the first time last start and handled it beautifully.
The Hard Style Rico bitch showed good early speed to open a big lead into the back straight before going on to win by two lengths in 30.19 seconds.
That was her third consecutive win in Masters company after winning twice over 352m at Q1 Lakeside.
She should be able to find the front from box 3.
