COSMIC SHOWER (6) has been knocking on the door this preparation, finishing second in both runs over this course and distance at Pakenham Synthetic.

The Phillip & Tommy Stokes-trained filly was beaten just a neck last start after hitting the line strongly and only narrowly missed again two runs ago.

She is drawn to race on speed from barrier 1 and should get every chance to control her spot.

With race fitness, synthetic form and the right map, she gets another good chance to break through.

LAKE FOREST (4) is chasing a hat-trick after winning both runs this preparation at Pakenham Synthetic.

The Peter Gelagotis-trained gelding returned with a strong 1000m win before stepping to this course and distance last start and scoring again as favourite.

He is unbeaten on the synthetic and has won all previous races when starting as favourite, which gives him a reliable profile.

With tactical speed and clear confidence this preparation, he looks set to take holding out again.

PARAMOUNT PLUS (3) is in terrific form, winning his past two starts at Pakenham Synthetic and doing it over different trips.

The Greg Eurell-trained gelding broke through over 1200m two starts ago before rising to this course and distance last start and scoring again.

Despite drawing a touch sticky, he should be able to use his early speed to cross and find a forward position.

With confidence, synthetic form and tactical versatility, he looks capable of going on with it.

KANDINSKY (3) broke through in dominant fashion at Bendigo last start, leading throughout over 1400m and giving nothing else a chance.

The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained gelding is lightly raced and looks to have more upside than most of his rivals.

He has good early speed and should be able to roll forward again, even though he is untested at this distance range.

With confidence from the maiden win and the right racing pattern, he can take the next step.
