Daily Harness Racing Tips – Thursday 4th September

Bronte Nieuwenburg has done the form for tonight’s eight-race card at Ballarat.

R1 – 5.55pm – Ballarattrottingclub.Com.Au Pace – 2200m

  • 4 – Direct Command
  • 7 – Sassyola
  • 3 – Savon De Roche
  • 1 – Written In Silk

Direct Command was very tough in defeat last start at Shepparton. He covered an extra 34 metres racing wide in the event and was only beaten 2.5 metres. His sectional times were excellent. He may need to make his own luck again here, but he’s certainly racing well.

BACK: 4 Direct Command – 2.5 units (win)

R2 – 6.23pm – Signature Support Services Trot – 2200m

  • 7 – Whats The Tea
  • 2 – Off your Faceski
  • 9 – The Night Queen
  • 1 – Azalea Mae

Whats The Tea doesn’t win very often (7 of 132) but he always tries his best. He looks well-placed in this field and, while he will need a bit of luck, he’s racing well enough to win.

BACK: 7 Whats The Tea – 2.5 units (win)

R3 – 6.59pm – Iron Bark Gardening Pace – 2200m

  • 11 – Icanmotor
  • 10 – Lester
  • 8 – Skyz Above
  • 7 – Kempseys Delight

Icanmotor is second-up here and was impressive winning first-up at Maryborough. He should improve with the fitness gained from that run, and although he needs to overcome a poor barrier, he is definitely racing well enough to do so.

BACK: 11 Icanmotor – 2.5 units (win)

R4 – 7.36pm – Interclub Drop In Centre Concession Drivers Trot – 2200m

  • 6 – Love Who
  • 5 – Champagnes
  • 4 – Allwatfunjingles
  • 8 – Fremarks Peggy

R5 – 8.06pm – That Little Book Shop Pace – 1710m

  • 9 – American Alli
  • 5 – Montana Pride
  • 6 – Shifu
  • 4 – Sometuffluv

R6 – 8.36pm – Woodlands Stud Concession Drivers Pace – 1710m

  • 3 – Yankee Gambler
  • 1 – Sir Nippa
  • 6 – Littleblabbamouth
  • 8 – Foregone Conclusion

Yankee Gambler is a very tough performer who can make his own luck in races. He has finished in the top three in six of his last seven starts and runs very well for Hannah Parish. He has the clear best sectional times in this field and I am happy to stick with him here.

BACK: 3 Yankee Gambler – 2.5 units (win)

R7 – 9.06pm – Natures Cargo Pace – 1710m

  • 6 – Tophut Johny
  • 3 – Kimchi
  • 7 – Averio
  • 8 – Presidentialchange

R8 – 9.36pm – Radio Ballarat Vicbred Voucher 3yo Maiden Pace – 2200m

  • 4 – Always On Safari
  • 6 – Miki Sing
  • 3 – Colorado Girl
  • 2 – Cookie Dough

QUADDIE (Races 5-8)

  • R5 – 4, 5, 6, 9
  • R6 – 1, 3, 6, 8
  • R7 – 3, 6, 7, 8
  • R8 – 2, 3, 4, 6

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
