Daily Harness Racing Tips – Wednesday 17th September

Bronte Nieuwenburg has done the form for tonight’s competitive eight-race card at Bendigo.

R1 – 6.00pm – King Of The North – Walners Champion Son Pace Final – 2150m

  • 1 – Swiss Lightning
  • 2 – Wheres Wood Wood
  • 11 – Nothing Sweeter
  • 8 – Salsboy

R2 – 6.32pm – Poster Boy With 2yo Colt Of The Year 3yo Maiden Pace – 2150m

  • 1 – Major Bye
  • 11 – Random Mahoney
  • 3 – Myrtle May
  • 4 – Captain Grin

R3 – 7.00pm – Pastor Stephen @ Llowalong Farms Trot (1st Heat) – 2150m

  • 11 – Rakero Warrior
  • 5 – Macho Maori
  • 10 – Karbine
  • 6 – Piesridingshotgun

R4 – 7.33pm – Soho Tribeca – Son Of The Great American Ideal Pace – 1650m

  • 11 – Cee Cee Lou
  • 4 – Starzinhereyes
  • 3 – Michen Roy
  • 2 – Allornothinglevi

Cee Cee Lou was brilliant, coming from last to win last start from the same barrier. He had to cover an extra 37 metres to claim that victory. It’s a very similar field here, and it won’t be easy, but he can win again.

BACK: 11 Cee Cee Lou – 2 units (win)

R5 – 8.00pm – Heidi George Mares Classic (Vicbred Voucher) Pace Final – 1650m

  • 9 – Ruby Wingate
  • 3 – Illawong Phoenix
  • 1 – Princess Arna
  • 10 – She Haunts Em

R6 – 8.30pm – Yankee Rockstar @ Llowalong Farms Concession Drivers Pace – 1650m

  • 10 – Big Rig Saint
  • 8 – Yankee Gambler
  • 5 – Wow You Can Dance
  • 1 – Carly Perez

Let’s forget Big Rig Saint’s last start, as he was checked badly at the beginning. Prior to that, he won really well at Shepparton. He’s a versatile horse, and with a scratching he now comes out of barrier nine, which is very suitable for him.

BACK: 10 Big Rig Saint – 2.5 units (win)

R7 – 9.00pm – Agistment, Breeding & Embryo Transfer @ Llowalong Farms Pace – 1650m

  • 8 – Direct Command
  • 4 – Emjay Jazz
  • 9 – Tupelo Beach
  • 7 – Shaq

Direct Command impressed when leading throughout to score last start, but he faces a tougher test from an awkward draw tonight. He races particularly well for driver Luke Dunne, who is back in the sulky. He’ll need some luck from the barrier, but his personal times are clearly the best in this field.

BACK: 8 Direct Command – 2 units (win)

R8 – 9.35pm – Northern Rivers Equine Vet Clinic & Llowalong Farms Trot – 2150m

  • 6 – Queen Kizen
  • 5 – Bullapark Beno
  • 2 – Bennie And The Jets
  • 1 – That’s Dudley

Former New Zealand trotting filly Queen Kizen is a half-sister to superstar mare Queen Elida, who was also prepared by trainer Brent Lilley. She impressed me in her recent trial at Melton. Having raced at the top level in age-restricted races in New Zealand, she looks a talented type, and I’m looking forward to seeing what she can do here in Australia.

BACK: 6 Queen Kizen – 3.5 units (win)

QUADDIE (Races 5-8)

  • 1, 3, 9, 10
  • 1, 5, 8, 10
  • 4, 7, 8, 9
  • 2, 5, 6

** A betting unit is typically a percentage of the total bankroll or the amount of money you are willing to risk on a particular bet – for example 1 unit is 10% of your bankroll, therefore with a $100 bankroll 1 unit equals $10.
