Seven of the best will be run and won at Warwick Farm in Sydney’s west this Wednesday, February 4th.
The rail will be set out three metres around the entire course while at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (6) range.

I’m going to give Kokatahi another chance second up from a spell this week.
Kokatahi improved for three competitive performances during his debut preparation without recording an elusive win, while he returned to action this time to finish second, beaten a head at Randwick-Kensington.
He strips fitter and can go one better.

There’s a case to be made for a few of them in Race 2 and I thought a horse like Buckeye had winning claims at nice odds ($8 at publish).
Buckeye is a six-start maiden but has rarely been far away, finishing the runner up on three occasions.
He returned to action in the lucrative Magic Millions Maiden up on the Gold Coast, finishing a credible seventh, and with natural improvement and back into what looks to be a thinner race, I think he’ll be right in the finish.

Prince Charge was a smart winner when resuming and can go on with it at Warwick Farm.
Prince Charge finished down the order on debut in September and was immediately put away, but that decision paid immediate dividends when he hit the line to break his maiden in midweek metro company.
This is obviously harder, but he has plenty of upside and Nash sticks.

Signor Tortoni is another second up galloper that I am keen to be with at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
Signor Tortoni clearly needed his first run back this time in Saturday metro company to tune up, but his form last time in was strong and consistent, and included multiple wins in town.
I like that he’s been back to the trials since his first up effort and in my opinion, the $5.50 about him at publish looks a touch of overs.

This looks to be one of the stronger races on the program and the resuming Thames adds plenty of class to it.
Thames hasn’t been seen at the races since May, but she was a model of consistency last time in, typically in harder races than this one.
She’s trialled up nicely and I’m confident that her class can take her a long way towards winning.

Assailant couldn’t have done a lot more without winning when resuming at Canterbury and is poised to go one better at Warwick Farm.
Assailant found form around some good horses last time in, and after trialling up fairly, he turned in a nice performance to only just miss behind Allegro Miss.
He boasts an excellent second up record and with natural improvement this week, he’s my best bet on the program.
| 3. Assailant (5) J: Adam Hyeronimus 57kg 308×2T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott |
In my opinion, Concordia Wind gets plenty of ticks in the last at Canterbury.
Concordia Wind picked off some nice races last time in, ending her prep a winner in BM72 company at Rosehill, while she returned to action to fill the minors behind Clear Proof at Randwick-Kensington.
She drops in the weights today, while the addition of James McDonald is also an enormous positive.
