Eight of the best will be run and won at Melbourne’s Sandown Racecourse this Wednesday, February 25th.
We’re well and truly into the thick of the Melbourne Autumn Carnival now and that is echoed in the eight fields taken for this week’s midweek metro program. With so much talent engaged, we’ll be treated to some great betting races.
Read on for this week’s Sandown best bets.
LEOPARD SHARK can continue her rise through the grades at Sandown.
She’s only made three appearances at the races so far, but after a couple of credible efforts first and second up, Leopard Shark broke her maiden impressively at Pakenham last time out.
With further improvement, this is a great opportunity for her to go on with it.

MELIAN is second up and open to improvement at Sandown.
Melian showed promise at the trials prior to debuting and worked home well behind Arlington Row at Cranbourne earlier this month.
With natural improvement, she can begin her journey through the grades this week under Craig Williams.

BEL MEZYAAN is another last-start winner I’m keen to stick with at Sandown.
Having debuted with a fine performance to fill the minors behind Trapper John and Headbanger here last month, Bel Mezyaan took improvement into an easy maiden victory last time.
Fitter third-up, something like this looks the next logical target for him.

TERILEE rates as a key winning chance again at Sandown.
Terilee has only missed placing a couple of times in six starts since debuting, and she returned to action with a decent effort behind the likes of Paradise City at Pakenham last month.
With natural improvement and dropping back into a weaker race, I’m confident she’ll be right in the finish this week.

TRAPALANDA drops back to the midweeks in search of winning form.
He’s yet to strike in five runs back this time, but Trapalanda finished the runner up in each of his first three runs, and while a hit-and-run mission to Sydney failed to reap the intended success in January, he returned to Melbourne to finish midfield over 2000m at Flemington last time out.
He’s hard fit this week, this is the weakest task he’s been set for some time and at around the $7 mark, he rates as a genuine each way contender.
5. Trapalanda (1) J: Ryan Houston 58kg 22266T: Annabel & Rob Archibald
ENAMORADA was unbeaten in two starts during her debut campaign, but she clearly needed her first run back from a break to dust off the cobwebs when beaten more than three lengths here earlier this month.
She strips fitter for that hit-out and is drawn to receive a lovely run this week under Ethan Brown.
7. Enamorada (3) J: Ethan Brown 59kg 11×5T: Ciaron Maher
TEST OF LOVE returned a winner at Sale earlier this month and can go on with it this week, in my opinion.
Test Of Love attracted interest in the market ahead of his returning performance in BM62 company and didn’t disappointing, kicking clear to record a near two-length victory.
With natural improvement and luck in the run from the wide alley, I can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again.
5. Test Of Love (7) J: Ben Allen 58.5kg 998×1T: Ben, Will & Jd Hayes
FLAG FLYER faces a rise in class but also chases a hat-trick in the last at Sandown.
The Boom Time gelding has returned to the races a vastly improved galloper this time in, and after returning to the winner’s stall out at Moe two back, he proved too good again in BM62 company last time out.
This is another rise in class, but he’s hard fit, will relish another rise in trip, and he’s another whom we can have something on each way.
