Seven races make up another strong midweek metropolitan program at Canterbury this Wednesday, June 17th.
The weather has improved in Sydney throughout the last couple of days and the track has subsequently been rated in the Soft (7) range with further upgrades expected, while the rail will be set out three metres around the entire course.
Read on for my Canterbury best bets!
WAIRARAPA is second up and capable of breaking her maiden at Canterbury this week.
The Pierata filly trialled up fairly before working home to fill the minors on the Illawarra Grange track on debut.
With natural improvement for that experience and getting further out in trip, I think she can win this time.

WOODENBRIDGE resumes in an open race at Canterbury on Wednesday.
She only made one appearance during her debut prep but after being specked at huge odds, she worked home quite well to finish fifth behind the likes of Warwoven at Randwick.
On exposed form this is a noticeably weaker contest, and she’s had the benefit of a couple of nice trials in the lead up.

KLOCKE is second up and open to improvement at Canterbury.
Klocke was well supported on debut and hit the line to finish second, beaten a short head here at Canterbury earlier this month.
With natural improvement for that experience, he’s drawn to receive every chance in the run and can begin his journey through the grades.

Another horse that steps out for just their second career start that also rates as a key winning chance at Canterbury today is CLAUDEL in Race 4.
She too was the target of good market support ahead of her debut at Warwick Farm but ultimately finished second behind an impressive Beneath The Rock.
Tim Clark can take her forward from barrier 4 and give them something to chase again.

MO CHROI makes his eagerly awaited Australian debut.
He only made two appearances at the races during his first two preps in Ireland, but after filling the minors on debut at Dundalk, he returned to action last year to break his maiden impressively at Fairyhouse.
Two trials here in Australia have been full of merit and I like that he is being launched over the 1550m.

FORMAT is third up into a nice race at Canterbury this week.
The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained gelding dusted off the cobwebs with a fair effort behind Skycatcher here when resuming and was improved when fourth, beaten just over a length getting out to this trip last time out.
He is a horse that tends to enjoy sharp improvement at this point of his preparation, and he’s drawn to receive the run of the race under Adam Hyeronimus.

ETON takes winning form and improvement into the last at Canterbury.
The well-bred gelding trialled up well before returning to action for a dominant victory in maiden company last month.
He’s been kept up to the mark with a trial since that race and something like this looks well within his abilities as well.
