Thursday’s 10-race card at The Triangle is broken down by Redcliffe expert Oli Cownie.
SAINT MAHARG (4) looks to find a much easier race than he has contested in recent outings. He took on a race won by Aardies A Star last time out when finishing fourth not beaten far after racing off the pegs. He can look for a prominent position early and should run well again.
LOSTANDFOUND (5) has had little luck in recent outings having been left to do the work in three of his last four starts running second on each occasion. He ran well again last start when sitting without cover and was just run down by Wheres My Bling who had the perfect track into the race on his back. He looks set to do the work again.
MAYWYN VALENTINO (6) had little luck last time out when sitting without cover first up from a spell and just being run down late by a horse that came from off the speed. He is likely to have derived plenty of benefit from his last start and despite the wide draw should run well again.
BOSTON CHIEF (2) has been well below his best in recent outings including last start when securing a good run behind the speed and just finishing off fairly late into fourth. He looked a very smart 2YO running some quick times at Albion Park. He should get the right type of run again.
SELECTIONS: SAINT MAHARG (4), LOSTANDFOUND (5), MAYWYN VALENTINO (6), BOSTON CHIEF (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SAINT MAHARG (4) to win.

| Last start 4th (Fr3) over 1660m at Albion Park, beaten 6 m by Aardies A Star (1:57.80) on June 19 at $2.25. Before that, 6th (Fr4) over 1660m at Albion Park beaten 9 m by James Alfred (1:55.70) in 3yo on June 9 at $51. | |||
MACKENZIE REG (2) comes into this race having not started for over a month. She showed good ability in her latest outing when drawing wide outside the front row at this track before sitting without cover and battling on well for third behind Lots Of Heart. She should run well in this race.
SERGENTMAJOR JUJON (5) is having his first run for the stable of Donny Smith and may be an improver. He seemed to go much better on the rails last campaign and may not be able to find that position from a wider draw. He should run well first up.
GOODTIME FLETCH (9) starts in this race first up for the stable of Ian Slater. He won the latest of three trials beating A Rockn Nightmare. He has shown enough ability in the past to figure in a race of this nature.
WANNABE WICKED (1) has enough gate speed to drive through and hand up to one of the better hopes in the race. She was able to run second on debut when handing over to Ranger Ron and can look to do similar in this race.
SELECTIONS: MACKENZIE REG (2), SERGENTMAJOR JUJON (5), GOODTIME FLETCH (9), WANNABE WICKED (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MACKENZIE REG (2) to win.

| Two back was well beaten into fourth behind Wave Of Delight at this track over 1780m on May 21 at $6.50. Then a handy effort when beaten by 9 m finishing third after showing early speed, behind Lots Of Heart at this track over 1780m on June 3 at $31. | |||
OUR ANGELS ENVY (3) led four starts ago and was beaten by Lower West Side who sat without cover to score. She should be near peak fitness now having had four runs since returning from a spell. With reasonably good gate speed she should be able to press onto the lead in the early stages and if she can do that she should be very hard to run down late.
LOUARK (6) looks the class runner of the field having taken on stronger races so far in his career. He was well beaten in a recent trial but the winner of that trial is a much higher assessed horse in Always Dancing and he was given a quiet trial and just saved up for one run at them late.
RANGER RON (4) led last start at Albion Park when controlling things and just being run down late by Whata Good Feeling who was able to sneak onto his back in the early stages. He can look for a prominent position in this race but doesn’t appear like he can lead which could make things tougher.
DARK AND HANDSOME (5) got back in the run last time out and was running through the line well enough in the concluding stages in a race taken out by Girl Power. He draws poorly again in this race and may be shuffled back and looking to run on late.
SELECTIONS: OUR ANGELS ENVY (3), LOUARK (6), RANGER RON (4), DARK AND HANDSOME (5)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR ANGELS ENVY (3) to win.

| Capable of better than we have seen lately. Last start 5th (Sr2) over 1780m at this track beaten 11 m by Little Surfer Girl (2:09.20) in 3yo+ on July 1 at $23. The run before 7th (Sr1) over 2138m at Albion Park, beaten 11 m by Bennydasook (2:34.20) on June 25 at $31. | |||
OURBEACHGIRLMAYWYN (5) took on a much stronger race last time out where the winner Berocca Bernie rated brilliant time for the 2138 at Albion Park. She has early speed and drops back into a much more suitable race. She may be able to press forward and find the lead and if she did she would likely be very hard to run down.
OUR LUCY LOU (6) scored a dominant win three starts ago at this track when leading all the way over the 2040. She draws wide this time and does draw outside of what looks to be one of her main rivals in the race. She may be left to do the work in this race but still looks capable of figuring in the finish.
WILLIAMS (10) has previously raced with success in the state of QLD although his one win was a dead heat. He seemingly had his chance to finish a bit closer last time out when leading and finishing seventh at Shepparton. He can bounce back.
OHOKAREDROBINJUJON (2) has the gate speed to work to the lead which is where he ran his best race in recent outings finishing in the placings behind Cheeky Baby three starts ago. He should lead again early before having options from there.
SELECTIONS: OURBEACHGIRLMAYWYN (5), OUR LUCY LOU (6), WILLIAMS (10), OHOKAREDROBINJUJON (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OURBEACHGIRLMAYWYN (5) to win.
OUR UNCLE LES (1) finished close up last time out after working off the gate to find a position in a race taken out by Estival. This race looks tougher but he has drawn well. He has run some of his best races leading and may elect to lead again in this race.
TRACER BULLET (7) should get the ideal run through behind a horse that usually likes to hold a forward position when he can. He was well beaten last time out but he was forced to race up on speed in a truly run race which may not have suited him.
TACKAS LAST DANCE (8) should get a good run off the speed in this race from a soft trailing draw. She ran a good second three starts ago when finishing off strong behind Erasmus. She should run well again.
MALIBU DREAM (5) was shuffled a long way back from a wide draw last time out and just couldn’t get into the race there when finishing fifth behind Gidup Captain. She looks set to be shuffled back again in this race but should be suited by.what might be a more genuine early tempo.
SELECTIONS: OUR UNCLE LES (1), TRACER BULLET (7), TACKAS LAST DANCE (8), MALIBU DREAM (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TRACER BULLET (7) to win.

| Last start 7th (Fr3) over 1780m after racing wide at this track, beaten 19 m by Perfect Feeling (2:10.90) on July 3 at $6.50. At the start before good run when 3rd (Sr3) over 1780m at this track beaten 10 m by Illbewatching (2:11.70) in 3yo+ on June 29 at $4.80. | |||
ROCKIN SWEET (4) was forced to race without cover last time out at this track and battled on well behind Little Surfer Girl who rated good time for the grade. He is likely to have benefited from that run having been the first run for his new stable.
LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (6) had no luck last time out when wide for a long way in a race taken out by Fourty One Gee at this track. He draws wide again in this race but is likely to have derived benefit from his latest outing and looks very well graded.
PRINCE JOY (5) ran a good placing two starts ago getting back in the run before making a wide run into the race behind Fifty Three Stars. He draws wide this time and may be shuffled a long way back early.
PERFECT FEELING (3) has gate speed and may look to press forward and race in a prominent position in this race. He was a good winner last time out when driven with a sit.
SELECTIONS: ROCKIN SWEET (4), LLANFAIR LLEWELLAN (6), PRINCE JOY (5), PERFECT FEELING (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKIN SWEET (4) to win.

| Two back was well beaten into eighth behind Sheez Got Torque at this track over 1780m in a 3yo+ on June 24 at $4.80. Then a handy effort when beaten by 6 m finishing second behind Little Surfer Girl at this track over 1780m in a 3yo+ on July 1 at $2. | |||
MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (1) should have the speed to drive through and lead in this race which is a position he has run well from numerous times throughout his career. He raced without luck last time out when getting back and running on in a slowly run race. He looks better suited here. CEDAR CREEK FALLS (7) scored her latest win when sitting leaders back at Albion Park behind Littlelioneljames over the 1660. She appears likely to get a similar type of run in this race behind the leader and should be running on nicely at the finish.
QUICK CHANGE (8) ran a good second last time out behind Fourty One Gee at this track. He looks likely to be able to secure an economical run off the speed and should be running on well late again.
COOL DUDE JOEY (2) ran another good race last time out when running on well into third behind My Ultimate Cossie after getting a long way back in the run. He should settle close enough from a good draw and can run well again.
SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (1), CEDAR CREEK FALLS (7), QUICK CHANGE (8), COOL DUDE JOEY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CEDAR CREEK FALLS (7) to win.

| Two back was beaten by 6 m finishing sixth behind Art Jester at this track over 2040m in a 3yo+ on June 26 at $26. Then a handy effort when well beaten into third behind Maywyn Troubadour at this track over 1780m on July 3 at $13. | |||
HES SWEET (2) led last time out over the 1780 and rated good time in defeat behind Rostova and Lanai. He finds a lightly weaker race and loves to lead which he should be able to do again in this field. He should run well again.
COMMODORE JUJON (10) got a long way back last and hit the line nicely over the 2138 at Albion Park. He draws poorly in this race but usually loves racing over the middle distance and has had plenty of success at this track.
BLACKJACK CRIPPA (9) finished close up in a race taken out by Rocksngems last start over the mile at Albion Park after racing close to the speed. He has a great record at this track and should be suited getting a good run off the speed in this race.
BARRETT (1) was left chasing a long way from home last time out in a race won by Zeus Lightning who contested The Rising Sun on Saturday. He should get a great run behind the speed in this race and can bounce back.
SELECTIONS: HES SWEET (2), COMMODORE JUJON (10), BLACKJACK CRIPPA (9), BARRETT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HES SWEET (2) to win.

| Fair performance when beaten by 5.5 m finishing fourth behind Western Arterra at Albion Park over 1660m in a 3yo+ on June 22 at $6. Then a handy effort when a close third after a quick start, behind Rostova at this track over 1780m in a 3yo+ on July 1 at $9. | |||
BELMER BETTY (3) was a dominant winner last time out at Marburg when leading all the way and scoring by a big margin there. She may look to press forward again in this race and could find the front. She looks hard to beat again in what may even be a touch weaker field.
LOWER WEST SIDE (5) led last time out and set a strong tempo in a race taken out by Call It Bling. He draws wide this time and looks set to be left doing work in the run at some stage.
ART JESTER (7) should get a good run through behind Ashlee Nitro last time out who is likely to be close enough in the run. He raced without luck last time out but is going well and with luck in this race he can run well again.
ASHLEE NITRO (1) worked hard chasing the leader Merry Jewel who seemingly got keen out in front. She should find a more sedately run race in this race and looks likely to get the perfect run again behind the speed.
SELECTIONS: BELMER BETTY (3), LOWER WEST SIDE (5), ART JESTER (7), ASHLEE NITRO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BELMER BETTY (3) to win.
| 3. Belmer Betty (3) J: Alan Donohoe 12891T: A M Donohoe | |||
| Last start won by 14 m when quickly away, (Fr1) at Marburg (2:46.20) beating Copperfield in 3yo+ on June 28 at $8. | |||
SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (1) was forced to work hard early to lead before working through the middle of the race and getting a touch tired late behind Rocky Leigh. If he can secure an easier lead time he should run well out in front.
THE TIGER ARMY (6) sat without cover last start and tired late into seventh. He should find this race considerably easier but will have to navigate an awkward wide draw. He looks well graded enough to figure prominently despite the draw.
WAR CLUB (8) should get a good run through early in this race not having to do any early work. He sat close to the speed last time out and tired badly late but was in a much stronger race taken out by Fourty One Gee. He can bounce back.
DIEGO DELGADO (2) raced without cover last time out before forging to the lead and just being run down late over the 2040 by Gidup Captain. He may appreciate the step back to 1780 and should appreciate the favourable draw in this race.
SELECTIONS: SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (1), THE TIGER ARMY (6), WAR CLUB (8), DIEGO DELGADO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WAR CLUB (8) to win.

| Didn’t do much last start, 8th (Fr2) over 1780m at this track, beaten 40 m by Fourty One Gee (2:08.70) on July 3 at $101. Before that 8th (Sr2) over 2138m at Albion Park, beaten 20 m by Ascot Showtime (2:34.00) in 3yo+ on June 23 at $34. | |||
