Daily Racing Tips – Friday 7th August

Our Daily Racing Tips for Friday at Ipswich are headlined by several runners who look well placed across the card.

Ipswich Race 1 – VINCE INSURANCE Class 1 Plate (800 METRES)
No. 7 Lady Milan

LADY MILAN (7) had been building to a win after placing in three races in a row, including a Gold Coast second beaten 1.65 lengths.

She then broke through emphatically over this course and distance last start, leading throughout to win by 4.3 lengths.

That win should give the Tony Gollan-trained mare the confidence to go on with it.

With Leah Martyn’s 1.5kg claim and her early pace, she maps to give another bold sight.

The start before that 2nd of 8 at Gold Coast Mdn on June 27 over 1000m, slow going 1.75 len behind Thrash A Bully with 56kg at $1.90. Blinkers on last start did the trick – top chance again.

Ipswich Race 3 – QTIS Three-Year-Old & Four-Year-Old BENCHMARK 68 Handicap (1350 METRES)
No. 1 Fire Bomber

FIRE BOMBER (1) is unbeaten at Ipswich and returns to the track where he scored over 1200m four starts ago.

He has been contesting stronger races since, including a narrow second at Doomben last start when beaten just over half a length.

The Toby Edmonds-trained gelding will appreciate rising to this distance after being beaten a nose over it at Doomben two starts ago.

With proven track form and a softer assignment, he gets his chance to return to winning form.

Ipswich Race 4 – FERTPRO RATINGS BAND 0 – 58 Handicap (2150 METRES)
No. 1 Old Faithful

OLD FAITHFUL (1) has started to show his best since getting out over a trip, winning over 2200m at the Sunshine Coast two starts ago.

He was brave there again last start when third beaten 0.48 lengths over 2240m after leading and just being run down late.

The Stuart Kendrick-trained gelding drops slightly in grade and looks suited in this setup.

Maps to get a great run on speed.

Ipswich Race 6 – IPSWICH TRIBUNE TODAY BENCHMARK 68 Handicap (1100 METRES)
No. 11 Duke Of Camden

DUKE OF CAMDEN (11) has his first start for Tony Gollan after previously racing in New South Wales with David Pfeiffer.

He ended last preparation finishing at the tail, but this is considerably easier than what he faced there.

Before that, his form was solid with back-to-back placings at provincial level, and he looked sharp in a recent trial when getting to the line under a hold.

Drawn to get a nice run and with a good fresh record, he can make a positive start for the new stable.
