Taree Race 1 – DDH1 DRILLING COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)
No. 3 Fratianno

FRATIANNO (3) returned in good order at Port Macquarie, chasing strongly over 1006m to finish second when beaten just under a length, with two lengths back to third.

The Colt Prosser-trained gelding had placed in three of four runs last preparation and looks close to breaking through.

He has now finished runner-up in both starts over this distance, which reads well for another 1000m assignment.

Second-up with fitness on his side, he should get his chance to go one better at Taree.

Second run back. First-up after nine months sat on the speed and boxed on steadily 2nd of 12 at Port Macquarie on July 31 over 1006m, slow going 0.9 len behind Miss Trump carrying 56kg at $7. Previously second-up 3rd of 7 at Coonamble on October 12 over 1100m, 2.5 len behind Race To Arms with 57kg at $7.50. Looks tough to beat in this line-up.

Taree Race 5 – MACKIES CONCRETE PUMPING COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
No. 5 I Am Steffi

I AM STEFFI (5) has come back this preparation in terrific form, winning her past two starts at Grafton and Port Macquarie.

The Neil Osborne-trained mare showed good speed to lead in both wins, most recently kicking clear over 1206m to score by a head with a gap back to third.

She draws to do no work from barrier 1 and should be able to take up her usual role on speed.

With fitness, confidence and the right map, she looks perfectly placed again.

Taree Race 6 – RDO EQUIPMENT TAREE BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
No. 2 Not Written Off

NOT WRITTEN OFF (2) is flying this preparation, winning her past two starts at Tamworth and doing it in dominant fashion last time.

The Cody Crockett-trained mare led throughout over 1000m three weeks ago, kicking clear to score by 1.11 lengths with a gap back to third.

She has now won three of her past four and is proven on soft ground, which suits the conditions here.

With good early speed, she should be able to cross and find a forward position.

SINFULL (11) was beaten a head at Grafton last start, finishing third over 1125m after travelling on speed.

The John Shelton-trained mare had won her maiden two runs earlier at the same track and has returned in good order this preparation.

She gets a senior jockey on in Jean Van Overmeire and should be able to hold a forward position from barrier 3.

With tactical speed and solid recent form, she looks ready to run another honest race.
