Ladbrokes has Toy Show Quality tips and predictions for the group race at Randwick on Saturday, which features a small but stellar field.
Toy Show Quality odds have Apocalyptic as the $2.25 favourite, and she should prove tough to beat.
The 4YO mare looks primed and ready to make an impression fresh-up. She has yet to finish worse than second from three first-up starts, and her record at Randwick is outstanding.
She owns three wins and two placings from six starts at the track, and her trial form leading into this race has been exceptional. She got the better of Chilly Girl and Headwall most recently, which is a lovely form guide.
Tommy Berry has started his season riding well, which adds to our confidence of backing the favourite. The $2.25 odds are generous enough to take, and we think she’ll only shorten at Ladbrokes on race day.
The winner of $1.1 million has class on her side, and that could be apparent on Saturday, so put her on top in Toy Show Quality predictions.

| First-up. Finished off last campaign fourth of 8 at this track in the G1 Surround February 28 over 1400m, soft track; 5 len behind Tempted with 56kg at $5. Previously first up; second of 9 at this track in the G2 Lghtfinger February 14 over 1200m, 0.8 len behind Savvy Hallie with 56kg at $1.50. Multiple Group winner who looks set for a good prep. | |||
We have the Toy Show Quality being a race in two, with Savvy Hallie the likely quinella hope with Apocalyptic.
The 4YO daughter of Hellbent is a quality thoroughbred, and she will likely win a big race during the Sydney Spring Carnival, and she could get things started with a win at Randwick on Saturday.
She defeated Apocalyptic in February by just under a length before running second behind Tempted at Group 1 level. There are no holes to pick in that form, and she has a good chance of beating the favourite.
The $3.70 price with Toy Show Quality odds are worth including as a value bet.

| Mare returning from a spell and has won previously when first up. Finished off last campaign 11th of 14 at Rosehill in the G1 Coolmore March 14 over 1500m, 5 len behind Lazzura carrying 55kg at $4.20. First up last campaign fourth of 12 at Gold Coast Sunlight January 10 over 1100m, 2.5 len behind Grafterburners with 55kg at $7.50. Proven at this level and will take catching. | |||
It doesn’t appear to be a race where an outsider will win, but we’re happy to include Stardom in first-four picks at the current odds.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained mare ran fourth at Doomben in her most recent run, and although she’ll need to improve lengths on that effort, carrying 53kg with Rachel King on board could be enough to sneak into the money.
If there isn’t too much pace up front, which could be the case, she could get away with some cheap sectionals. King is good at judging the pace in front, and her two recent trial placings have her ticking over nicely.

| Resumes after a break of three months and has been in the money when fresh before. Finished off last campaign fourth of 13 at Doomben Darby Mccarthy May 23 over 1110m, soft track; 1.4 len behind Earn To Burn with 55.5kg at $5.50. First up last campaign ninth of 17 at this track in the G3 P J Bell April 4 over 1200m, soft track; 3.5 len behind Plaintiff carrying 56.5kg at $71. Expected to feature after the two sharp trials. | |||
Punters get value odds with our Toy Show Quality SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
We have Apocalyptic Top 2, Savvy Hallie Top 2, and Stardom Top 4, which pays $7.75 at Ladbrokes. It’s a fair price from the team at Ladbrokes considering the odds of the two favourites, who we’re picking to quinella the race.
The value comes from Stardom Top 4, which pays $1.70, and in a field of only seven runners, she has a good chance of figuring in the money.
