The Memsie Stakes final field for 2026 has been confirmed, and it’s a stellar field for the Group 1 feature this Saturday out of Caulfield.
The Memsie Stakes barrier draw had an impact on betting markets, with some of the fancied runners drawing wide.

Memsie Stakes Barrier Draw Winners & Losers
Cosmic Crusader has had the roughest barrier draw in the Memsie Stakes, securing barrier 11.
The Perth-based runner will need to do some work from out wide, which could make it too tough for the 6YO, who has been in fine form this preparation with two wins in Melbourne. He’ll need a fine ride from William Pike, who is good enough to settle back and come with a well-timed run.
Another runner who hasn’t been favoured with the Memsie Stakes barrier draw is Mr Brightside. The champion will look to settle close to the speed, but he could be forced to do a lot of early work to cross to the rails.
The winners with the Memsie Stakes final field are Angel Capital and Treasurethe Moment. Angel Capital has barrier 5, so he can find his feet early in the race before letting down with a big late finish. He likes to have early room to move, especially at Caulfield, so he’s a winner with the barrier draw.
Treasurethe Moment is another runner who is suited by the barrier. She secured barrier 6, which gives her time to find her feet before making her way to the front of the pack. She will likely amble up to them, and jockey Damian Lane won’t need to ask much of her to find the front.
What to Expect in the 2026 Memsie Stakes
It’s one of the most competitive Group 1 races we’ve seen in a long time. The Memsie Stakes final field is packed full of superstars, many of whom are having their first spring run.
Mr Brightside, Treasurethe Moment, and Beiwacht should have big spring campaigns at the 1400-2000m range, and punters should also look at the resuming middle-distance runners, who could give a sight on Saturday.
Runners like Autumn Boy, Birdman, and Buckaroo will look to hit the line strongly in preparation for longer races this season, but they can’t be overlooked as winning chances in the 2026 Memsie Stakes.
As betting markets reflect, there isn’t much between many of these runners. It’s a classic edition of this race over 1400m at Caulfield, and we expect a blanket finish to the big prize on Saturday.
